IPL 2016 - The Official Thread

I just get pissed at him doing this now when he couldn't buy a run for the proteas when it really mattered.

Gujarat, delhi and kkr seems to be the most balanced sides for me.

He also have added pressure for Proteas where assistance from other players are limited in terms of contributions. Proteas normally wins when AB and # does well.

For RCB, that pressure is off.

In that rcb lineup he currently only has kohli and watson who you can class as class players. He has amla and qdk for the proteas so the same situation.

The pressure excuse is really getting lame. If he is the best of his generation as he is labeled he should be able to handle it.

does anyone else get a little happy when RCB loose a game?

to me it proves throwing money at only the best batsmen in the world does not win games.

sadly with Donald as the bowling coach it also makes me sad for a different reason...

I have been enjoying the IPL this season though. it feels like there is something different. the players are playing at a different level especially the local boys. (other than Miller...)

They need to invest in a captain who can win a toss! RCB have lost every toss and as a result batted first on every occasion.

They the only team in this years comp to have won batting first, twice!

Smith responded with 32 off 21, including three fours and two sixes, McCullum pillaged 25 runs off the sixth over and Lions had dragged the required rate down to 7.78. South Africa's chinaman bowler Tabraiz Shamsi did well to keep Royal Challengers' hopes up with 4-0-21-1, but his team-mates leaked 158 runs in the other 15.3 overs.

Well done lad.

it kind of looks like RCB need to find high quality local bowling talent that is not signed already if they want to win this tournament.

My money is on the DD or the KKR for the title this year. only two teams that have looked the most well rounded.

Kholi won the toss for yesterday's game and chose to bat first because he thought it would be more difficult to bat 2nd. I would bat 2nd every time no matter the pitch with their batted line-up and shoddy bowling. It is easier for them to be more aggressive batting 2nd because with wickets in hand, someone else can throw their bat and win the game as long as you get close enough.

Kholi doesn't know how to pace his innings when he bats first. If someone in a team gets a ton and the team finishes with only 2 wickets down batting first, then the innings was paced poorly if they end up losing.

S hit did he? Didn't know that. What a noob.

Been shown over and over again in T20. Chasing a target is a lot easier than defending/setting one.

Their premier batman, Maxwell has had a shocking season.

He has always been hit and miss. The biggest problem has been that miller has also been dreadfully out of form and vijay hasn't done much at the top either. Of their big name batsman only marsh has been good. Then you add to this johnson and abbot being crap as well and we can see why they are bottom of the log.

Gujarat Lions 117/3 after 12....after a huge start, Delhi's South Africans are pulling the Lions back. Was 110/0 after 10...Tahir and Morris doing the business at the moment.

DR Smith lbw b Imran Tahir 53 30 5 3 176.66
BB McCullum b Morris 60 36 6 3 166.66
SK Raina* c Nair b Morris 2 5 0 0 40.00
KD Karthik† c Duminy b Imran Tahir 19 17 1 1 111.76
RA Jadeja c †de Kock b Duminy 4 7 0 0 57.14
Ishan Kishan c Duminy b Imran Tahir

Hmmm SA players doing well :p

Chris Morris is the Player of the Match for his 82 off 32 balls and 2-35 . "Upset we couldn't get there, but happy that I could contribute. I was quite lucky, it was one of those nights where I timed and it flew off the middle of the bat. It's been a lot of practice on my batting over the last couple of months.

What a player
