Ipod Hard Drive Diagnostic Tools?

Hi Guys,
my Ipod touch has been giving some hectic delays in the last month and I suspect it is a hard drive issue.
I've searched all over the net but it seems that no tool is available to test my ipod? :wtf:

There are some sites that state a diagnostic boot on the touch itself is possible, but they don't seem to work.

Anyone know of an app or boot cd that can read the sectors and test the drive at all? Any help appreciated

ipod touch uses flash based based storage. The filesystem might be HFS+ or FAT32, not sure though.
