Iran goes nuclear

I do believe him and i agree with him. If he wanted to destroy israel he would be something like buying nukes or making them, he would not be wasting his time building power plants.

He is painted as a madmen by the western media but against all odds and with the help of Russia managed to actually pull this off. Incredible in my opinion. Even more incredible is only west approved countries can have nuclear power plants

I am more worried that the US might think nuking a country will be easier than go to war with them again .

Enough said, agreeing with a man who actively wants the return of the 12th iman and Armageddon! If you don't believe "western" media then try reading Iran's own FARS agency or watch PRESS TV and then tell me Iran's actions are benign.

It's Ironic that the freest countries in the world have no respect for sovereignty of other countries. Strange world we live in.

No but Nations like Iran, who are wanting total annihilation of another country have no right to nuclear weapons or any other kind for that matter.

I never said they had a right to nuclear weapons, I said they have the right to produce nuclear based power for their people.

Why the shift of focus from nuclear power generation to nuclear weapons?

Why can Iran not have a nuclear power station?

Mention of the word "nuclear" seems to cause folks to think of mushroom clouds.

Want to repeat the Iraqi WMD invasion?

You worry me .....
Buying nukes is not like in the movies, its extremely difficult ;)
The fact that you believe a mad man like him worries me.

Oh what rubbish, he never said that. Another lie spread by the right wing media and repeated by the ignorant. What he actually said was; "This regime now occupying Jerusalem will vanish from the pages of history like the sands of time". That is the proper translation from Farsi into English, not the slanderous lie spread by the Western media.
Really? So what does this mean : ""Recognizing the Palestinian state is not the last goal. It is only one step forward toward liberating the whole of Palestine," Ahmadinejad told worshippers at Tehran University, according to The Jerusalem Post. "The Zionist regime is a center of microbes, a cancer cell, and if it exists in one iota of Palestine it will mobilize again and hurt everyone," he said."
Bunch of bloody idiots who think this guy wants nuke power for peace only

I'm not an idiot, thank you.

Provide the proof of his nuclear arsenal and his first strike intentions and I'll be the first to support action against him.

You cannot have nice things unless you are told you can by the west. Well i think many people in this thread fail to grasp it is about a nuclear power station and not a nuclear bomb so i am also a bit confused how we got into the nuclear bomb. I mean the US lied about iraq who is to say they are not lying about iran now?

They can have nuclear provided they allow inspectors to do their job. Which they don't...

The report, based on inspections of Iran’s nuclear facilities last month, repeated a litany of complaints about stonewalling by Iranian officials who have refused to allow access to key facilities or provide details about plans to build as many as 10 nuclear facilities across the country. Iran’s defiance has helped fuel fears that it is working secretly toward becoming a nuclear power.

“The Agency is unable to provide credible assurance about the absence of undeclared nuclear material and activities in Iran, and therefore to conclude that all nuclear material in Iran is in peaceful activities,” the IAEA said in its report, prepared for release at next week’s meeting of the agency’s 35-nation board of governors.

I'm against any country having nuclear weapons, but if Iran were to pursue them it would be completely understandable. They're surrounded by countries which already have them, the countries bordering them to the east and west are occupied by foreign militaries and the West has been nothing but antagonistic towards them for over 30 years. Nuclear weapons are weapons of deterrence and influence. Iran hasn't been a belligerent aggressor in over one thousands years. Contrast this with the United States, which is also the only nation to deploy nuclear weapons aggressively and this was, sickeningly, against the women and children of a foe that was already vanquished.

What gives any nation the right to tell another nation what to do? It just shows the mindset of the free countries. Freedom is not the agenda at all from this sort of stance they display. (claiming to stand for freedom but don't want any risk involved)

If Iran uses a nuke on Israel, they would be committing suicide. Israel is believed to possess 75 to as many as 400 nuclear weapons, not to mention possible chemical and biological weaponry. Iran would be leveled before their nuke even reached Israel.

So just HOW many WMD's were found in Iraq?

Inspectors:

It is undisputed that Iraq had a nuclear weapons program. However all the UNMOVIC inspectors, using the latest state of the art detection technology, had not found a trace of any current ongoing nuclear program in Iraq. The United States had to rely on forged evidence to get the world to believe them.

So whether or not inspectors say you have nukes or not seems to make no difference. Even when they say there are no nukes you can just fabricate and lie to get what you want. This is acceptable to most western supporters, let iran lie and fabricate and OMG all hell would break lose in the western world.

So what good are inspectors if they are ignored?

Mutually Assured Destruction.

but let every unstable nutcase regime on the planet have nukes pointing at each other. What could possibly go wrong

Maybe because it's been shown that the inspectors can't be trusted?
Really? Where exactly? They had nothing to do with Iraq, did they? ;)

Yes right thats a great comeback well done, so tell me did Iraq have nuke power? Were they actively trying to get nuclear technology? Did Saddam ever use chemical weapons against his own people? You live in a fantasy world.
But you know what? Lets just give WMD's to anyone who want them, then then we will have world peace !! woohoo time to hug a tree
