Is IPS LCD really worth it?

I use a Dell Ultrasharp U2711 and its worth every cent. Work on the PC all day, spreadsheets and general office work, some graphic and some photography work. Night and day betwwen the U2711 and the other monitors that I have used. If you can afford an IPS panel do it.

Thanks. Pretty set on the HP 24" IPS... I do similar stuff.

Looks like best value IPS at the moment.

Unless anyone can suggest something else for the same price, around R4200.

So did you get it? How is it performing in terms of gaming - speed versus your previous panel? And on color?

Greetings my subjects

I have returned

I have had my ZR24 since September last year, and it is superb.
Colour is great, image is crisp and as for gaming....

For gaming , its perfectly fine, i dont notice any ghosting, ive played FPS and racing games all perfect. All played at native rez with my HD4890 perfectly

Also HP has a no dead pixel policy, so if u have even 1 dead pixel, they'll replace it!, mine is perfect, no imperfections at all to date.

It has a aluminium strip around the edge right round which aids in cooling.

Highly reccomended.

Goodbye

I'm so happy with my display - it's not IPS, but super-MVA. Still decent.

The more I use it the happier I get!

Thank you, teacher!

I have also been perfectly happy with my 2232GW samsung. it's 16:10..... but would be great if it were 16:9 for movies, not cause I dont like letterboxing, but because it would make the movie altogether bigger.

Just set VLC to 16:10. :)

Not sure if crop is the correct term. Probably stretch?

Either way, if it irks you, it irks you. If it doesn't, it doesn't. :)

Crop is the correct term. But stretching, or changing the aspect ratio.... ha ha, who wants to see oval faces... not me.

Do you have a separate TV PostmanPot?
