IS News Server down?

Hey guys,

its true. I hit 30gig in one session...430k/sec constant international off newshosting.com servers...was only supposed to get 2 gig international and i got 30 :) so I cant complain can I. I did get capped tho as soon as I hit 30 tho, but on my other 2/28 I got 41 gigs and its still uncapped. go figure :P

OK, another noob question. I got connected and can see the groups. Do i now have to subscribe and then update the group? Will it then show a list of the stuff available?

Freaksta what application u using, Newsbin or Grabbit and how many connections does it allow?
 
Can i be number #452? ;) What speed ya getting Freaksta, client you using?
 
weirdness.. Sometimes I get sweet FA, then other times it spikes between 15- 45kbps.. Right now it's sitting on a big fat 0kbps and has been for the last 20 minutes.

However I've managed to do 1.68 gig since sunday night, so not toooo bad all things considered and I only have 4 gig of stuff to get before the end of the month.. fingers crossed
 
see, I'm getting nada still. Even after shutdown/reconnect/etc...

If the thing is knackered then at least IS should say so, I cannot believe that for one moment that they are unaware that the whole thing is going pear shaped.

Also the slience from the various IS resellers is rather disconcerting aswell. Usually MrBeep is very good about sorting our our problems with IS, but on this particular issue we have heard zero feedback about what the actual problem is. Obviously there IS a problem, and for IS to claim that everything on their side is fine is rather proposterious as this is a wide and well documented problem, so it CANNOT be end user issues...

What sort of settings you got? Anything special?

I used to run a constant 60k+ now I'm lucky if it peaks to 40... It was hundreds on Thursday last, and now it's back to kuk stories..

I wouldn't mind so much if IS or ANYONE came and went, look this is the story, this is whats happening, but we get bugger all feedback from anyone.

And for those who say it's a free service, it isn't, it's part of the package we buy from IS or resellers, therefore if it's not working properly then they are olbiagted to fix it or lower the prices of the packages as part of them are unusable.
