IS news server

I think IS should bring out a paid News Service, considering in the future, we will finally have uncapped local (im talking distant future), which would make the current news service impossible to use.

That way, if you don't want to pay, use the normal service, otherwise, they can use that money to create a better, (faster, more retention, and mirror one of the top news hosters like giganews) offering.

What would be a fair price to pay? Would you pay by the gig, or a one-off monthly fee?

I think IF they will have a paid newsserver they will charge per gig.
But will IS really be bother with piracy and stuff?

anyone have a news server address that they willing to disclose as the one I am currently using is really, really slow?

Giganews.com
Cept you are going to have to pay for subs, oh and use international bandwidth.

Im actually pretty glad i have a 384k line considering how little people are getting out of their 4mb lines. I would do my nut if i have a 4mb and it was that slow.

dont be so sure :p
90% of the time, i clock 430kbytes/sec from local news servers.
10% of the time it's like it is now :(

700 mb in 25mins ftw

yes. with my 4mb i can easily do way over 80 gigs in a month especially when i use two accounts and 2 PCs and that includes downloading cached and uncached stuff.

Well I got 80GIGS on a 512kb/s line. But since IS has capped the 30gigs... :(

I would be willing to pay extra for IS to run their chocolate factory properly...

Yes, delete this thread :)

Does the chocolate forum work though?
Edit: My bad, it looks fine, I've just never had a look at it till now.

hehe, well, downloading 30GB with a 384 line works just as well as using a 4mb line :p

gone are the days of abusing a 30GB account for 120+GB a month :( i'm downgrading soon, i'm done with the IS news server. just causes aggravation. gonna use the money i save to drink! :D

Yeah my 30GB account has been pullinig away nicely this month, full speed on everything so i cant really complain. Will definately finish the full 30GB

Weird one

I've got a bit of a weird one. Don't know if anybody is using AXXESS but I recently purchased a local only axxess prepaid account but I can't seem to search news on it. I can connect to saix + axxess news server but can't search. I can connect with my saix account and search news then add items to my q - I then connect with axxess account and resume the news items and it downloads fine. mmmm,.

When is the IS News Server gonna be sorted out? New Files are still not getting cached!! :( :(
