IS NS Speeds?!?!

I know this is a no-no topic in most people's eyes on here so I am going to attempt to do this as surreptitiously as possible.....

If you understand the subject can you please tell me whether you are also getting extremely slow speeds? Mine has been ridiculous the last few days fluctuating between 0k and 6k and lots of timeouts. Now I am wanting to know if it is something my side or IS in general?

my speeds have actually been surprisingly good. So much so, I've been wonders whether IS have been doing more upgrades over the festive season.
 
Very bad here. Over the last three days I've been getting 70%, 50% and now 30% of what I usually get :(
 
Yeah Johan, it has pretty much been a week for me. Phoned my ISP and no problems there. But now Alchemist is saying his is great.

alchemist I'm presuming you are IS too?

feo it is all uncached stuff... but usually I sit around 9-12k constantly... now lucky to get 6k every so often but lots of spikes, well actually more troughs of nothing!

Never thought of that... but I leave Grabit running over night and often awake to find not very much downloaded or a whole lot of red "server cannot be founds" or whatever that error is again. Surely everyone being at work would not affect it at night... i should be getting good speeds then?

Unless everyne leaves their work PC's downloading over night?!?!?
 
Hahaha this is soooo funny. Im sorry guys but SAIX seem to be on fire. Im maxxing my internet connection with SAIX and its all uncached!

Ummm not sure I really see the humour in it. I am on IS out of choice and mainly due to it making the most sense financially.

If speed alone was my only consideration without thought for cost I would be on a 4Mb line, with uncapped unlimited access and have paid access to an international news server....
 
I have a 384k uncapped express account and my downloads over the festive season were flying. This month however I have been sitting with speeds just above dialup speeds, aaah!! I know I am being throttled, but it is only supposed to be to 1/2 of the line speed not 1/4 of the line speed. What I have been doing is restarting my router often and it sets my speeds back to full for a while before the throttling kicks back in. Sometimes full speed only lasts a few minutes but other times I get a few hours before it is throttled again, go figure...
 
people iam using an is uncapped account and getting sh#t speeds iam only geting 6kbs through torrents and even downloading through firefox but when i use nzb files i get 39kbs now really this is confusing me a lot can anyone please help me ? ? ? ?
 
I'm having a thing now, it's downloading at 300k for 2 minutes, stopping for 1 minute, downloading at 300k for 2 minutes, etc... like a pattern for a long time now.... up down up down up down up down :(

Newsleecher dl average atm is 382KB/s. Thats on SAIX tho cos IS is a waste of money... ill rather pay the exra R/GB and know ill get it sometime this year
