Is this the worst programming job ad ever?

Salary too low, smacks of racism and sexism (you know you ganna be working for a complete mullet), requirements too vague.

Then

Because no self respecting black developer is going to accept that salary.

Or women?

Is SA IT that sexist? Or just the nobheads in Kempton Park(lol. I grew up in that town. Everyone I know who never left is either dead, in jail, or should be in jail)

Maybe as security they have these really dangerous dogs at the gates who dislike women and people of colour :D

I'm getting really worried how I am going to make a living on a salary like that once my degree is done on a salary like that. Never mind paying back my debts. Going to have to keep living with my parents in Kzn. I don't see with rent, transport and food how someone could make it on that.

Fresh out of 'varsity or tech you should be getting R15,000-R20,000 a month.

Dunno where you get those figures. I only saw R20k monthly for a "fresh out of varsity" programmer in Sandton a few years back.

Salaries suck bigtime for newcomers to the programming industry. R8000 starting salary seems about right. You'll probably be promoted fairly quickly.

Yet another “White Male Only” post on Pnet, last time Woolworths went to hell and came back. Pnet should really implement a moderating system and guideline. Racial sparks is quite popular in SA.

Depends on your qualification, but graduates (university) would generally start around R300k (gross) per annum in JHB. I believe CPT & KZN are slightly lower.

Well I was planning to move to JHB once I was done, with Bsc(hons) I'm hoping to start with +-15k

Can anyone here actually confirm this? Is there a programmer on MyBB who started with 300k p.a.? I've never heard of a fresh graduate earning this much.
