Is this what un-capped feels like?

You kidding right? We are the ones being raped. If Telkom f uk up? Go for it take as much as you can.

Exactly as I said. Is it not funny how the definition of "theft" is interpreted to suit ones needs? In the supermarket example again, if that shop was known for putting a 2000% mark up on their products, would it then be justified for me to stuff my pockets and walk out without paying?

Just questioning the morality of it....

If we want to take it to extremes, if someone rapes/kills a family member of yours, are you then justified in killing them? So even if you are being raped by Telkom, raping them back when the chance arises makes you no better than them. My view would be that you would then forfeit your right to point fingers when some else does something immoral in future.

Yes IMO.

Telkom have been raping us for years and they dont have an issue with that. I am sure they dont mind with their billions of rands in profit.

So no-one will cry when Telkom realise their error and then bill everyone who has raped their cap?

I suppose it all boils down to your morals. I personally prefer not to lower myself to other people's low levels. If you are happy being as low as them then that is your choice. I will continue to have opinions on people/companies that I feel have low morals in future. I would question whether some of the Telkom rapers on here should....

So no-one will cry when Telkom realise their error and then bill everyone who has raped their cap?

Let the punishment fit the crime I say. If you used 40Gb international then you should not whinge when you get charged for it...

They can't - they can only bill you for local traffic. Theyre supposed to hard cap you on international - if its not working its their problem.

Just let them try....

Are you saying that people should stop using telkom until they fix the problem?

As things stand, you have no choice in the matter, you're using what you paid for.

About two months ago I was charged for going over my local bandwidth. I immediately cancelled. It is pathetic that they cannot cap you if you go over.

All traffic goes over local so I wouldnt put it past them to at least try. :o

so what happens if you get a bill for more than what you would normally use, do we query it with them?

you pay it or they cut your service? If you have a 3/30gb account and use more than 30gb there's a good chance they'll charge you at local usage rates because they're entitled to.

If your normal usage is 30Gb and this month you all of a sudden do 70Gb then clearly you have raped the system.

As things stand, you have no choice in the matter, you're using what you paid for.

To be precise, you paid for 3Gb international (if you are on Do2 - well actually you paid for 2 but Telkom was kind enough to give you a 3rd) and 30Gb local.

I personally will not be crying when it comes to Telkom requesting payment for used data. I have switched to RouteSentry and am using my Axxess account for international and doing my downloads on the local I know I have on my Telkom account, as I usually do. I know I have used around 3Gb on my Telkom account.

It just makes me laugh that some people will then cry when Telkom tries to charge them and claim they did not know how much they had used, yet on this thread they seem fully aware of their usage.

I don't know what to get, I haven't taken full advantage like others of this situation.

Ha ha isn't it fascinating how people view stealing from Telkom in a different light to stealing from anyone else. Most of you seem fully aware of how much international data you have used and yet you continue raping the system.

If a supermarket's lights went off and the security were forced to leave the building would you immediately start filling your bags and pockets with goodies and then leave? Pretty much the same thing really.....

And yet many of these people are the same ones that question the morality of some of the leaders in this country... pretty ironic that...

But of course this is "different" because you are allowed to do that to certain companies (and I, no doubt, await the influx of those justifying this theft)

100% in agreement with you.

The bandwidth is going towards the 3Gig, not the 30Gig (the one they charge for if u go over) part. They won't charge.
