ISP Advice

Sorry to post on an old thread but I have a few more questions.

We are now moving to a complex on Uitsig Road near the Hyper, Durban north.

We are also looking to cancel our DSTV subscription and rather get faster internet and either Showmax / Netflix.

My questions are:
1) Would you guys recommend showmax or netflix?
2) We were thinking about getting our internet through Telkom to make use of their bolt on for showmax, is this a good plan?
3) What is the FUP cap on their 10mbps uncapped line through Telkom?
4) 123Net seem to have some good packages if we have coverage, haven't heard much about them though?
5) About how many gigs do you think we will go through in a month using either netflix or showmax? We are a family of 4 and watch quite a bit of tv.

I hope you guys will be able to answer some of these question, if you need any other information let me know.

Thanks!

1. Download Kodi and google how to install Exodus on Kodi (you can do this on your pc now) this is the way to go for streaming as you can't access the US library on Netflix anymore. If you wanna go legit use Netflix for 3 months then use Showmax for 3 months as the content gets stale very quickly. Netflix will probably be easier to get you started as Showmax is buggy if you can get it working at all.
2. No
3. I'm not sure but rather go for a ISP like Axxess, CW or Vox they do good work. if you go uncapped make sure you get a premium account, personally I like capped accounts I think you get more out of them and are better quality plus you get uncapped from 12pm-6am.
4. I know they do fibre and people are generally happier on fibre then ADSL. I see your area has up to 40mb/s VDSL https://secure.telkom.co.za/today/ucm/ so speeds should be fine even if you don't have fibre. On a 20mb/s you will comfortably be able to watch 2 1080p streams at the same time.
5. 1080p uses roughly 1-3 gigs per hour so lets go with 2 gigs per hour so how many hours do you watch TV? 200gigs = 100hours, 100gigs = 50hours but if you watching two streams at the same time you are halving your hours. I would go with a minimum of 200 gigs and up/down it at the end of the month.

Crystal Web with free time would be her best bet. I have no worries with free time, and everybody streams. Previously, i use to watch my data, and never had enough. Free time has certainly been a game changer
