these are most likely mostly private companies. As you know, in government and Parastatals the picture is different. I doubt government will do anything about the unfairness between gender and race because it will upset these companies and they bring in all the money for the country.
Wow look at those Salary by ethnicity...PATHETIC. Those stats should be much closer than that across the board, especially since this is Africa.
What exactly is the Government doing about it? NOTHING. Look at the gender payment differences as well. Lol, this f'n world is so f'd up and they wonder why people try to cheat the 'system'. SIGH.
In other words skilled and unskilled. You're either "Generally Skilled", or a manager.
Shouldn't managers be paid less than skilled workers? A lot of people leaving are going to get a shock when they see that there's commonly low pay all over.If these are average monthly salaries, then there is a problem with these stats... at my current project the lowest paid earns more than the "average" IT manager anywhere in the county!
/me calls these figures BS!
Oh, and if this is true, I have no hope for this country... pay peanuts and you'll get monkeys as workers! No wonder that so many people leave!![]()
There could be multiple reasons for the lower pay. And whatever the reasons there is no quick fix.Wow look at those Salary by ethnicity...PATHETIC. Those stats should be much closer than that across the board, especially since this is Africa.

And people wonder why things like BEE still exist. I listen everyday to Afrikaans white people moan about how unfair it is that they struggle to get better positions because of BEE. I don't hear them moan about the much better salary they take home.
If i work hard I expect to get paid, if I have a skill that is in high demand, I expect to get paid more, if I have extensive experiance in the job position as well then I expect to get paid top notch. Why should race, gender, religion or creed make any difference when it's these factors that determine my salary?

Sack, Durbs sucks! But at least it has great beaches...that you'd want to swim/surf in.
Report lists 5 types of managerial but no developer positions? Are the only people in IT managers? What a useless review.

It's quite funny how ppl will say that weather, traffic and the beach makes up for being paid peanuts in Durban.
If you can somehow figure out how to make those 3 things pay for a decent house, your kids education, save for your retirement, your healthcare and spoil yourself with a nice car, I'd be very happy to hear it.
