ITNT Capped DSL Feedback

I'm on the R10 10GB package so luckily my top-ups are not split into day-night usage.

Yeah I had to change to a R36 package too- 5gig + 5gig - webafrica's deal is currently better though 5gig + 15gig = R39

They have to update their site a bit -at least put in functionality to change your password.

The R10 10GB topups are used up. I managed to buy 3 in the first half of the month, one after after each 8GB used. i might buy me one R20 10GB topup once i reach 32GB of 40GB used. Then I'll have 18GB for the last 13 days of the month and have spent R60 for my 50GB.

Come December, probably back to Afrihost, but for now I'm happy streaming 720p on my 2mbps line.

How did you get that right?

I signed up for 10GB @ R10pm before that offer was withdrawn. The topup policy allows 10GB topups to be bought once 80% data usage is achieved i.e. 8GB for me. Once i buy a topup, my data allocation is then 20GB and i must reach 16GB usage (80% of 20GB) before i can buy another topup. So i bought 10GB topups at 8, 16, 24 and 32GB usage.

32GB was 80% of my 40GB allocation at that point in time, meaning i had 8GB left plus the 10GB topup makes 18GB left.

Did i answer the wrong part of your query? I watch in movietube and usually select the Google drive option to stream. After pausing for half a minute i usually manage to watch the 720p version. It does not seem to work for that resolution on other sites so much though.

When my connection works properly and no-one else uses the network for anything else, I can stream 720p from Youtube on a 2Mb line as well. Its a tight fit, but its possible.

I'm lucky if I can manage 480p on Youtube without buffering.

EDIT: It looks like you need to be able to sustain a constant speed of 217KB/s to stream 720p HD. I max out at about 198KB/s.

So far I'm happy with the service. Will see towards end of month how the speed is when there is bigger demand.

I suppose it also depends on the lossy compression with which the 720p stream was created, like low vs high quality jpeg pictures of the same resolution as well the associated audio quality. Not all 720p streams are the same. Yesterday I had to stream at 360p from one site, but the picture looked fine.

Very true. 360p on Netflix looks better than 480 YouTube.

Anyone having issues logging into their client zone? cappedadsl.co.za seems down, and i need to top up :(
