ITNT Capped DSL Feedback

Finally, thanks mate. These clowns need to learn to under-promise and over-deliver. Right now they're grossly doing the opposite at the detriment to their brand/company.

You are right! ISPs should be more liable to their promises. However in this country (like in many other countries) we are still going through a "BIG DATA" reform. I've been with several ISPs this year and its been the same kind of situation with all of them. The relationship with Telkom doesn't help and hinders transparency when it comes to poor service delivery.

But on a more positive note, if I look back a few years, things have come a long way, and Telkom does seem to be getting better (ever so slightly that is). We just have to grind our teeth for he time being.

I'm going to Korea for a contract next year. I was there before and the speed was stupid fast. Can't wait to experience that here one day.

I don't get it. It' 09:00 on the 1st of the month and the R1.00 and R2.00 pools are empty :wtf::confused:

Yeah the R1.00 and R2.00 pools were reset only much later looks like. They are available now. I topped up 20GB for R20 just now. Very confused how to see the remaining data after you topped up.

I Applied for the ITNT 20GB once off account and learned that once off means in ITNT terms that its for the month you are in only, which is pointless to have a once off account. They just steal you cap on month end. I would agree to a month to month thing taking the left over cap but if you Used 2 GB of 10 GB once off purchase you should be able to use the rest of the data no matter what the date is, I have not looked in detail to their terms and conditions but will have a look.

Just a warning to people thinking that because this is a once of purchase for ITNT Once off means Once off for that month you are in.

ALWAYS REMEMBER.... This company is proud to announce that they do not offer any bandwidth roll over on their capped accounts just be AWARE !!!

Their answer to me was:"we have not hidden this in our Terms. It is accessible on our page upfront on all new packages to ensure all customers are aware to avoid confusion in the future when purchasing ADSL products: All packages including promotional packages are valid for use in the month of purchase only, ie use it or lose it. Rollover of unused bandwidth is not offered with Capped ADSL's packages."

So I understand they they did not hide this in their terms but if you want to be in a race with ISP's in SA you think this is the way to go ?

What gave you the impression that they offered data rollover in the first place?

Was wondering that too since "no rollover" is the norm throughout the industry with just a few isolated exceptions (which are much more expensive).

This is simply the only service I've used at our place in Potchefstroom that actually delivers close to our line speed (2mbps).

Their website doesn't inspire confidence and their top-up structure can be a bit confusing, but the service has been nothing but exceptional giving a solid ~1.7mbps on ALL forms of downloads, streaming, etc. I can't say the same for any other I've tested including Afrihost and Mweb which completely choke out around ~30KB/s when tested in the real world.

Yeah it is pretty much the best account I have used also. Top Up is confusing and misleading somewhat but not bad at all. Pity they are aiming to share the bandwidth equally meaning people with fast lines that use a fair amount of bandwidth are stuck topping up like 10 times a month instead of just once.

I'm happy with them at the moment. Not having any issues and they respond quickly to any queries. Just don't like the Topup system.

Yes it does not make sense to guys like me that have a 14Mbps line. I can either buy the 100GB + 100GB account which can last me most of the month and pay a premium for it because their base packages are not the most competitive in terms of pricing or buy the smallest package and need to top up like 20 times during the month to get the best price for data from their top up pools..... This is a pity because say I want to download 20GB during the night I will find myself being capped in the morning and my downloads are not complete.

This system they run would work great with a Auto Topup function. You just have the customer buy like say R50 auto top up credit and once you hit the 80% usage it auto topup from your topup credit. That would be cool.

Account wise you can't fault them. Its one of the best accounts I have every used. 198ms-201ms in League of Legends with full speed on ANYTHING anytime.

Yes this will be nice to have.

Until you think you are topping up at R1 and end up topping up at R5 per GB?

That is why I suggested a pre paid like top credit. Also would be nice to have a option that allows you to set what topup pools it can auto top up from.

That could work well, if you can select the top up pools.
Doubt they'll do that though.
