I don't think it's that unlikely. Other ISP's, and especially Neotel, have been getting higher caps since they cut prices on SAT-3 or Verizon's links at least. 15Gb unshaped for R499 with a 384 line from SAOL for example, beats Telkom's DO plans by far.

Telkom have let themselves fall to the back, and that's just stupid when they could really price themselves as low as they want. We'll be getting some kind of decrease at least, so these numbers seem possible. :D

Wrt the line speeds, a lot of peple can't actually sync at more than 1mbps, so Telkom can't really up the line speeds by too much for the lower segment.

You might want to laminate it first before you take it to the toilet with you. You know, so you can erm, clean it easily

I was actually thinking that if this is indeed true, it's the second best news we've ever had on MyADSL. (The first being the price war we had a few years back - 30GB for R199 - Thanks WebAfrica!!)

So yeah, if it turns out to be true, SlyFly definitely deserves a shirt.

Well at the moment we have 384, 512 and 4096 which is pretty odd ;) :p
 
Would be great...would that mean they go to ADSL2+ as well, you will need a really good line from the exchange to get 8mbit.

This one doesnt sound too plausible. Broadband services almost never have such a high degree of symmetry (UL > 50% of DL).

spoke to a man at the telkom stall at computerfaire and he confirmed those email specs,still will wait and see,and the bride of that newfree wireless billion router is tempting.
 
Seeing is believing, but damn if this is true telkoms hate mail might decrease a little :p

Telkom Spin Doctor: Lets "leak" some really good offers. People will stick around a little longer for us to milk them.

Telkom Exec: ... and then ...?

Spin Doctor : we resell our competitor's product and stick a telkom label on it.
