Hi

My laser mouse is jaggering in desktop if i pull i it or push is....curser jumps a little back to where it was on the pattern frequently...bought a new mouse pad... that also dont worked.

Can my mouse really be broken or what?

Thx.

Odds are the lens is dirty. Give it a good clean and see if that helps.

Earbuds work okay for me but if you have a lens pen handy that would be first place.

Mine is usually caused by cat hair as my cat loves to sit on the mousepad.

Tweezers works well for removing hair.

Have you tried another mouse? maybe it's some other piece of hardware

Things to try:

* new or different mouse pad

* update drivers

* clear ram - it's sometimes an issue with lack of memory

* get a new mouse

* check for spyware, viruses

* could also be a hardware conflict - did you put anything else new on the machine recently?

It's not so much how much RAM you have, as how much is being used. How many things do you have open / windows processes running in the background when this happens?

If you've had the mouse for years it might just have given up the ghost and it's time for a new one.

Just remembered that one time I had a similar problem it was an issue with the refresh rate on the screen.

I'm honestly not that expert - more of an expert at looking stuff on the net - so if none of the above help I suggest hitting google, there are tons of threads with similar problems, or buying a new mouse. They aren't that expensive.

I thought all mice sold these days are not lazer but optical mice.

As I recall those old lazer mice had the problem described so you had to use mouspads with them .

With the mouse plugged in. Turn the mouse around and look at the bottom part. If it burns your retina that is the problem.
