Jake White joins local telecoms group

I could expect as much as it became clear that White is a true leader by the way he handled the pressure of coach with no help from the political pressure and under adverse conditions AND he always came out on top. Well done Jake prove to these guys what is in you and what they lost.

This is a huge loss for world rugby...this man has a rugby brain...you are born with it...and thanks to racist people in SARFU, he is lost to us forever....nice going idiots...at leat he is not working for Telkom...

Can you imagine what his business card must look like? Or his CV for that matter....."Won the 2007 RWC against all odds, defying a racist government and a racist rugby union"

Have never seen an article written this badly. I can't believe it was actually posted like this...

White has been linked with the coaching position of the English rugby team, but Richmark Group chief executive Gavin Varejes said he was motivated to employ White when he heard that the coach might pursue the England coaching job.


reported that White will assume the position of head of marketing for Richmark Holdings, a telecommunications company in Johannesburg.

Wow! White must be super intelligent and incredibly versatile. I expect NASA will use him for their Mars effort sometime soon...
 
I dont believe this... it cant be the same Jake White....

€100 000 per month to coach rugby in Europe... or R30 000 a month to sell telecoms stuff for a company that is YET to make a cent in profit.

He has enough finances not to work I would imagine.

Nothing unusual there - there is alot to be gained from a marketing perspective - let me tell you that people will buy their products just because Jake visited them!
Of course some will deliberately not buy their products for the same reason, but hey, who needs those customers anyhow?

On the coaching thing - I don't blame him for being put off with coaching... politicians have to be thick skinned people, and a rugby coach anywhere in the world is a politician first unfortunately.
 
Doesn't make sense to me to be honest. To me it looks like the CEO bought Jake so that he can coach his son's school's first team - or some pet club team in Jozie.
