Bwahaha Yes!
He's that Israeli guy, came from Liverpool.
He played like 2 games then suffered an Achilles injury, coming back in March I think.

I also think he's worth it for 18m rising to 24m. He's scored 36 in 63 matches since moving from Spurs, which is a fantastic stat. The only question is why he'd wanna move to Villa, who are 11 places worse off than Sunderland.

I think it's because Sunderland are willing to sell and they are telling him that he has no choice in the matter. Simple really.

I'm stumped. He's also playing regularly... according to wikipedia. Boggles the mind. Then again, these footballers were always weird sorts.

Money talks. It's the same with everybody else

It had initially been reported that the club had formally offered £18 million for Bent at the end of last week, but it is understood that the figure is actually £24 million with a four-year contract under negotiation along with a £70,000-a-week salary. It may be that Sunderland try to push the total even higher but by allowing Bent to speak to Villa there is an inevitability that he will leave. Villa will hope to complete a deal so that Bent can make his debut at home to Manchester City on Saturday.

Everton have confirmed that they have now accepted a fresh bid from Tottenham Hotspur for Steven Pienaar, after David Moyes confirmed on Sunday that Chelsea had also made an accepted bid, believed to be around the £3 million mark.

Steven Pienaar has so far refused to sign a new contract


South Africa captain Pienaar is believed to favour joining Tottenham over Chelsea, with whom he has so far failed to agree personal terms.

When asked about Pienaar at the weekend, Spurs manager Harry Redknapp spoke of his hopes that Chelsea had not beaten him to the punch. "Pienaar is a good player," Redknapp said. "He can play left or right or down the middle. I like him. I would not be urging the chairman  I would not want to be putting the chairman under any pressure to buy Pienaar but at £2m-£3m, he's certainly not dear, is he? Would Everton sell him for that? I don't know. David Moyes wants to keep him and I don't blame him."

Everton boss David Moyes withdrew Piennar from the Merseyside derby on Sunday after the player told him he was not in a correct mental state to play at Anfield. Pienaar's contract ends this summer and Everton are keen to cash in while they can and before the midfielder walks away for free.

An article on Everton's website read: "Everton can confirm they have agreed terms with Tottenham over the possible transfer of Steven Pienaar."

Spurs have been considered the favourites to land Pienaar but appeared to be at loggerheads with Everton over a transfer fee.

The north London club were initially thought to have bid £2million while Chelsea were prepared to offer a more acceptable £3million.

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp said he was unsure whether that figure could be matched but it has been reported that a compromise figure of £2.5million might have been offered.

Like it has been pointed out, he stood a chance of playing at Chelsea than he would at Tottenham. Whos is he going to replace at Tottenham? Blae, Lennon, Modric?
He could play at Chelsea on the left since Malouda is more of a forward - or even on the right.

He's going to replace Kranjcar... on the bench

Edit: dont think Pienaar is the sharpest tool in the shed and he could learn something from Arteta, who is 10x the player he is, I can see him spending 1 or 2 seasons at Spurs and then joining a team like Wolves fighting relegation

+1. Going to a bigger, better club sometimes just means a bigger salary. Wayne Bridge epitomises this.
I'd rather stay at Everton, be an important 1st team player and fan favourite. But I'm not a footballer so...
