Filled our containers for toilet and garden on Sunday but we'll buy drinking water.

Brother in law has a borehole on his property about 15 minutes away.

As I understand it they are permanently closing supply to install valves, so low pressure is gravity on whats left in your respective water tower and pipes. With the drastic increase in population density through town houses but no increased water tower storage capacity, those towers empty fast.

Water supply was apparently only supposed to be reduced by 24%, so where's the remaining 76%?

Yup it does indeed, unless they closed the pumps, but considering that the water only ran out this morning makes me wonder.

My daughter stays in Wilgeheuwel and they had water this morning and could still shower. Possibly the resevoir has now run dry?

UPDATE ON RAND WATER PLANNED MAINTANACE 11TH OF JULY 2023 TO 14TH OF JULY 2023

Dear Residents

Councillors are currently on a follow up meeting with Joburg Water regarding the impact of the Rand Water Shutdown.

Work to Eikenhof has started and is in Progress.

Joburg Water has indicated that as of this morning, Roodepoort and surrounding areas are the most affected by the shutdown.

Below is a overview of the Roodepoort System:

- The overall System is low to empty.
- No supply at all direct supply points.
- All towers are now empty.
- Reservoirs are low to empty.

Areas affected in Ward 85 are:

- Discovery
- Ontdekkerspark
- Carenvale
- Horison
- Kloofendal
- Helderkruin
- Strubensvalley
- Little Falls
- Princess
- Groblerspark

A updated list of JOJO's and roaming tankers has been requested from Joburg Water and will be shared once received.

We will have another update report meeting on Friday Morning as well as on Sunday.

I think guys will only have water on Friday evening and not at 05h00 - i would bet R100 if i was a betting man
