Make sure you turn your geyser off. Don't want the element burning out with all the water supply uncertainty![]()
Yeah this was my thinking. When the cold water supply is turned off usually it's not possible to get water out of a geyser because there is no water pressure to push it out, so technically the element should never not be covered in water even when the water supply is turned off. But it can't hurt to rather be safe than sorry.
Yeah this was my thinking.
thats why you must have vacuum breaks on the hot and cold water side ,so the air runs into the pipe instead of causing a vacuum and siphoning water out of the geyser ,but it still shouldnt be able to suck out more than around 15 percent of the water as the outlet pipe is ontop and drops down into the geyser but it can and will suck out quite a bit if you dont have 2 vac devices .Yeah, when my water supply is off nothing comes out of either the hot or cold taps even if the geyser is 100% full. It needs the water pressure from the cold water supply to push the hot water out.
Yup same, I know this as I've got stop cocks on all incoming supply and while they were doing work on the bathroom with the geyser we had no hot water.Yeah, when my water supply is off nothing comes out of either the hot or cold taps even if the geyser is 100% full. It needs the water pressure from the cold water supply to push the hot water out.
Wtf why are they still empty???
In my previous area where we had a lot of water issues, there were various excuses ranging from power at the pumping station to air that was still being flushed out which takes some time. Once these issues are sorted, the reservoir still needs to fill to 60% before you get anything from the taps.Wtf why are they still empty???
Borehole is definitely next on my list. Can't depend on these nitwits to get anything right...
Generally the pumps aren't shed anymore. The only time they've had power issues is when the entire substation goes down.In my previous area where we had a lot of water issues, there were various excuses ranging from power at the pumping station to air that was still being flushed out which takes some time. I'd buckle down and make plans TBH. With stage 6 this weekend I'm not sure how the pumps are going to fill reservoirs to 60% for half the city...
Up? I'm assuming you mean water lol.Seems parts of Weltevredenpark that were down are coming up.
