What would actually happen then? they get a slap on the wrist?

The Department of Labour will issue them with a compliance order to fix their EE stats within a specified period and to report on their progress. They may also issue the employer with a fine. A compliance order can be made an order of the Labour Court, meaning that the employer will be in contempt of court if they fail to comply.
 
Probably in Afghanistan as a security contractor. I know of 5 Ex Police officers doing that currently.

I also know a few guys that went this route. But this guy was still rather young, not sure how much actual policing he got done, but I guess he could still go into the security contracting business in Afghanistan, even CPO work, he was not a small boytjie! :D

Most educated competent whites did the same thing in the SAPS. I know of many that went all over there and made a ton of cash. Some are still there.
Why wouldnt they go? Get paid crap money here, cant get promoted, law favours the criminal.
Its probably safer in Iraq :D
 
The EE act as a law is not going anywhere, but the EE plans of organisations are not here to stay. The EE plan has to be rational, and once it loses rationality then it fall foul of the the EE act. You can't have a 100% african leadership in a government organisation and still have an EE plan that seeks to promote African people. When african people are overrepresented in any level then the EE plan should seek to introduce other races in that level. This I suspect is what SAPS is doing, and they are forced to do so as per the EE act. The EE act protect all races, it's just that white males will suffer for a while since they were overrepresented for too long.

Obviously it will stay. In government all new appointments are made based on color and sex. Senior manager have spreadsheets and the spreadsheet indicates what color and sex to appoint when a position opens up. This is the only way in which you can maintain EE on an ongoing basis. Sadly ability does not count much.
 
That's my worry because people fail to understand what the EE act stands for. The constitutional court made it clear that the purpose of EE act is not to promote incompetent black people (including white females) ahead of competent white males. So if you are a competent white male in the SAPS, then why are you leaving? (Bear in mind that Barnard was eventually promoted). People leave because they are fed nonsense stories that a white male will never be promoted, but that is not true. I work for government and white males get promoted. Unions like Solidarity are also to blame for playing politics and making it look like there is no future for white males in government. The EE plan has to be rational, and people who get promoted must qualify for positions and be competent, regardless of their race. So there are two tests that every EE appointment has to pass. It follows then that when there is no need for EE because all races are represented in managerial levels, then white males shouldn't be denied promotions. This puts a lifespan on all EE plans.

Because SAPS was chock full of white people and when you have [eg] 1000 whites and all of a sudden only 5 spots for white people to be promoted then they leave because it will take you a lifetime before even 1 spot for promotion opens up. Yeah EE stands for equality and all that nonsense but at the end of the day, and especially in this case, it has put a bottleneck in the ability for promotion so there is no reason for anyone to want to work there.
 
But SAPS will not acknowledge that they have reached the lifespan. They are still concerned about quotas - this plea is just to make the numbers look good. If they really thought they'd reached the end of AA, Renate Barnard would get her promotion.

This plea is for low level constables where they are battling to make the numbers. There are still a lot of non blacks at the higher ranks in the SAPS. Renate Barnard should hope some of the old white toppies still hanging on retire then she gets promoted. Quotas are applied across the ranks.

That's the issue, as a white you will never get seen for promotion and the cANCer will enforce their racist BEEEEEEEEEEE criteria and policy.
