July Telkom Internet Capped Users

I'm on 8GB and still uncapped. Had to reformat PC last night, so I hope I can carry on downloading with the account I am currently using before it gets capped and becomes unusable.
 
I am a little over 10GB if my sums are correct and still uncapped. Telkom's usage stats are not updates regularly tho. It says 7.6GB so I am 99.99% sure I will be capped after the next disconnect.
 
Some bugger stole 1.9 Gigs from our account, so we're officially over our limit now... and not capped... (touch wood)...

Smoothwall shows that we're still within our 3Gb cap limit, with 60% cap used so far, but according to hellskommels, we're way over our limit with 3.5Gb's now... :rolleyes:

Stupid moffie 3Gb cap... :mad:

that is crap ... I wonder if the pool is per city or region or something ... otherwise it is totaly random! I mean you get people capped at 5 and at 10 gigs at more or less the same time! WTF! :mad:

It look like it is 2GB . Maybe Telkom is caping 2GB and 3GB differently
 
Still uncapped at 12.4154 GB

Think I will get capped on next reset.
 
The telkom accounts aren't that bad if they allow 4-10gig on a normal 3gig cap... Seeing as most isps that hardcap ask R500+- for a 6gig or 10gig cap (depending on you Provider)

Yeah, but from what I've gathered you have to burn through that 10GB+ really fast if you want to get it. Total back-to-back downloading and uploading - exactly what Telkom defines as "abuse". ;)
 
YAY!!!!!! I ripped Telkom a new one! :D

Finally got capped last night at around 12:30am.

I did..... wait for it..... 18.5794 GB :cool:

I did quite a bit of damage on the last day.

Down : 4.4343 GB Up : 1.7296 GB
 
If you do about 200MB per day (Up and Down Combined) - will Telkom cap you? 200MB x 31 = 6.2GB

That is usually what I do.

lol, rememeber Telkom is allowing this. you aint doing anything they dont want you to do, otherwise you would be capped, :p

Stopped access at 12:00 Midday
 
This is what Tekkom says in this regard:

TelkomInternet have opted to offer you an average usage option that will keep you online until such time that the average usage for all subscribers reaches the service threshold.

This means that we are allowing unrestricted access beyond your threshold instead of simply curtailing the service. However, your service may be discontinued once the average usage for all subscribers has been reached. You will then be required to top-up your threshold to remain online.
