Just finished Diablo 2

I finished HELL with a hardcore Trapsin about 6 months ago
The ancients were a freaking rush :love: and gloams omg and corpse explosions haha.

Totalling 3 characters i have finished hell without dieing once
And without any twinking or cheating

I'm battling with Twilight. I can't download the gateway editor from twilight? It asks for a name and password.
 
U need to register on the site - that registration also ends up being the log on details for the game for your online account

Are there still quite a few servers still running?

I don't think I can even remember my account username & password. Does it not delete your account after not using it after a few months?

Blizzard official servers deletes your chars after 60 days
but Twilight does not

There has been no ladder wipes yet either since its inception - so its going to be a tough slog for you to climb either your class specific ladder or the overall ladder
There are some 'dedicated' peeps in this country ^^

And if you are used to playing on official servers .... Fortunately / Unfortunately (depending on your preference) there are no dupers (at least not yet to my knowledge) so the chances of enough 'Stones of Jordans' being sold to vendors, to make 'Diablo Clone' walk the earth are almost non-existent at the moment

Only 1 person managed to get hold of enough to make him walk - but did so when no-one else was on-line - so he is still the only one with the Annihilus charm

If you need more assistance you can chat in the IRC channel - there are always ppl on-line - and providing they are in front of their machines - some one will always help out

damn its hard to beat diablo in single player mode.

When playing multiplayer with a team, its not that hard tho.


PROTIP: When starting out take the sorceress and play diablo in Classic mode (not expansion).

Your classic game has different rules than expansion. Example: When your sorc uses static skill in classic you can take any boss/monster down to 1hp, in expansion u take them down (slooowly) to about 25% hp max.


Its possible to max static in classic and just shoot diablo dead with some arrows lol..

Love this game there is so many different builds. You should really consider playing it online (battle.net server) I have legitimate cd keys for sale at like R75 per battle chest (Classic + Expansion combined).


Edit: @ the above. I don't think its normal/healthy to have harvested about 70-120 soj's without using a bot. Which means the server is BS anyway. Btw I used my auto teleport + d2nt loader on this server and wasn't ever banned. So I don't think its so "legitimate"

FYI ...the number of stones required for walk (on Twilight) << 70 and is also dependant on the number of players on the server at the time that they are sold
when he walked last time, I think he sold something like 10 or 15 not sure

use of bots is frowned upon - and if you should be found playing in an open game with a bot , or notice someone playing with a bot - it is expected of you to let admins know of this behaviour
as per the rules page
• The only allowed 3rd party apps are D2loader, Maphacks and Item Drop Notifier
. Using any other 3rd party apps is bannable. These include: Any form of bots, Pickit, FarCast, Auto Aim, Auto teleport or similar apps

Seeing that its a small community - we try to keep it clean as much as possible - and have people that are fun to play with - but as in real life - nothing is ever perfect

Ok ok ok, I know i said this in the OP but...I really finished Diablo 2 this evening. :D

Defeated 'ol Baal with my Assassin (who recently converted to single claw discipline to gain some extra protection from a shield), but he wasn't as tough as Diablo in my opinion.

Now I'm going to build a Sorceress for offline play and start working on my Paladin for online play. :) Geek much?

IMHO hammerdins beat all - at least the ultimate killing power was rectified with patch 1.13 - seeing that magic immune monsters ARE actually immune to magic now ^^ so now you wont be able to kill any ancient horadrims in Hell with hammers
but EVERYTHING else dies with just a few pew pews
and you dont even need good equipment, often when I need to do a corpse run I can still kill mobs while running around naked to try and retrieve my body ;)
 
yeah Hammerdins are crazily imbalanced with damage..

All the elemental spells have far lower damage and more resistances from enemies to contend with.

The magic hammers from the Paladin can kill most creatures since they don't have magical resistance but only Elemental, Fire Cold Lightning Poison.

I wonder what the Psn Nova Necro is like now that the base psn damage has been upped by 25% in the patch. It doesn't kill monsters very fast even and so many monsters are poison immune. They trying to make black people look good by giving the paladin so much strength lol ^^
 
interesting comment about poison ... didn't know that - maybe i should try a poison build necro - or poison javazon
 
Maybe I should try that Hammered Paladin ;)

I've built s sorceress and a Necromancer, but I'm not sure Im in the mood for them!

After reading your first update on downing Diablo, I found my Zealadin saves where I was last in Harrogath...I got pretty involved in runewords, and it seems "Lawbringer" doesn't work on my 1.10 ( I do have PlugY) :(

What level were you when you downed Baal? :) I'm at the Summit in Offline mode after 2-3 casual hours and just hit level 40

A Summoner looks very appealing for online mode :twisted: at least for Normal difficulty, what version of D2 is required to join Twilight?

Windows: 2000/98/95/NT
Mac: Macintosh

What would I need to run it on my laptop (Windows 7 x64) or would it just run as is?

I run mine on Win 7 x64 professional in Window mode, and still get "This program has been known to have compatibility" errors
