Yeeha!!! Some guy just phoned and asks” did you enter our competiion to win a HDPVR”?
Me thinking, What does this telemarketer wants to sell now!!!?
Me : (having a blond moment) No
Caller : are you sure? AM I speaking to flamtech? Because you have won a HDPVR
Me : Yes now I do remember (Still have no clue!!)
Caller: Can I publish your name on somesite.com as a winner?
Me : Ja sure. So when do I get my HDPVR? :D

At this stage I have the Premium Bouquet. Will the HDPVR work with the Premium Bouquet, or must I upgrade to HD?

U dont remember the competition yet u won....really sounds like some stupid scheme...
If not congrats man!!!

Don't give them any details, only your address, or a place where you can collect and make sure it's not dodgy!

They have big exposure on TV as well as on the internet.

This competition was in December 2008 and I forgot about it. Mild case of oldsheimer disease.

All they asked for is the delivery address, nothing else.

Good luck with your time share man, I hear the people there catch huge catfish!

I'm just concerned about the above question.... what do you mean "upgrade to HD"? There's no such thing as just an "HD" subscription.

You have to pay an extra R55-00 to watch the HD channels.

So if I don't want to watch the HD channels, can I still carry on with my usual subscription?

Is it worth to pay the extra for the HD channels?

I do have 32" LCD.

it's one hd channel, and no it's not worth it. do you by any chance have an sd pvr currently? because if you do then you do not pay extra for the hd channel as the R60 you pay for pvr access also includes hd access

No I don't have a sd pvr. (single pvr?)

My local dealer says I cant use the pvr functions if I dont subscribe to the HD service.

Multichoice call centre I can use the HD PVR without subscribing to the HD service. Who am I to believe?

sd = standard definition.

i think they're both right.

basically your dealer says you can't pause/rewind live TV or record shows if you don't subscribe to the "HD service", which includes HD access, PVR access and dual view access, all for R60.

the call centre meant that you will be able to use hd pvr to watch dstv but you will not have access to any of the above functions, so basically your hd pvr will function just like your current decoder, only shinier ;)

yup... imajin has it right... you won't be able to use any of its fancy functions without paying in the extra for the PVR/HD features... R55 (soon to be R60) per month.
