Kalahari.com vouchers thread

What's stopping people from making multiple Kalahari accounts and using the same voucher multiple times?

The T&Cs.
The same-payment-details-on-multiple-accounts fraud flagging system.
The account/address blacklisting system.

To name but a few.

Each person in our household has his own account with his own unique payment details loaded. When textbook time comes around even grandma receives a few orders so that we can use all the different discount to the max.

Thanks, makes sense. I didn't know about those rules. Bought my folks a tablet with their own account and one for myself on my own account but used my card to purchase both tablets... Guess I shouldn't do that again in case I get blacklisted.

I have 4 accounts at takealot and kalahari. Using the same address and details and have not been blacklisted at all.

I also had a few accounts, my SO/mom etc but then my card was flagged and payments wouldnt go through after the tablet special, so just be careful

Did you allow them to store your card details?

I never do that, so no idea how they picked it up, said something like the system they use picks up that account/delivery name and name on the card do not match so it flags that card on the payment system. Other payment methods still work though.

Woop woop thanks for the VISA100 voucher bought my SO a textbook that she desperately needed at a fraction of the cost seeing that Adams & Griggs was charging R200 more than Kalahari ended up saving R300. :D

Hope for your sake it is in stock and not in "16 working days depending on supplier". I'm still waiting for a book that was ordered in December.

Also ordered some textbooks and received them the next day - Kalahari was way cheaper than other bookshops

Yes, there are definitely legitimate reasons that there can be multiple accounts with 1 delivery address and all using one card. They shouldn't be turning away loyal customers based on a possibility that they could be misusing the vouchers.

They blocked my credit card and debit card, my brother used it on his account, mom on hers and obviously me on mine. Worked a couple times and then one day just started popping up fraud notifications when paying and my orders would be cancelled immediately. Called them and explained my brother was 17 and didn't have a card, and my mom too scared to use hers online....so they used mine. They couldn't care less, and said they were closing two of the accounts and only leaving my account open, and that we must all order from the same account. They unblocked my cards after a few weeks, and after one purchase on my account the cards were blocked again. I called about 7 or 8 times the first time to get my cards unblocked, wasn't going through that again. Since then I'd rather chew a brick than deal with them. You're just a number to them. Great prices. No service....kinda like CellC.

My advice...don't use your card on more than 2 accounts...May work great on more accounts for a few purchases, but the day will come went they block them, be prepared for the nightmare that'll follow.

No nightmare here. Simply refuse to buy anything from them.

Their choice of couriers isn't much better either: package arrived in CT warehouse and sent to couriers on Friday. Got delivery today at noon today.

Wow, that's really shocking. I've been such a defender of Kalahari, but this is really pathetic.
