Maybe an option to type in the GB you want and sign up for that :) e.g. 11GB @ R29 and thats what you get each month.

I just got my ADSL line installed on Wednesday and took the 1GB all-inclusive option from Telkom (R199 for 1GB with line rental included). I'm so glad that I didn't sign up for more bandwidth, because after visiting this forum I couldn't resist signing up for a 3GB account with Afrihost. I had no idea that such competitive pricing was available. Sent a copy of my ID through this morning, and got a response for account activation about 30 mins later (on a Sunday morning, no less).

I plan to use the Afrihost account during the month, and switch to the Telkom account when bandwidth starts running thin. Very happy over here, feels like I've discovered a well-kept secret. I'm not much of an online gamer, so I doubt that the 24hr disconnect will affect me much. Here's hoping for a lasting relationship :)

I'm thinking of switching to afrihost, can anyone explain the 24hr disconnect? and how it would affect in regards torrents, video streaming and online gaming?

You should make up your mind quickly, apparently the offer is ending soon, according to another thread.

I think the disconnect thing was dealt with in another thread. Don't have a link but it's out there;)

SAOL clearly don't understand the Afrihost deal.

To clarify... In order too keep existing customers, they're offering to match the R29/GB while the Afrihost special is on. After that, their rates go straight back up to the normal price again.

I explained to them that they do not understand Afrihost's offer and that I've locked in the R29/GB on my base package indefinitely (according to Afrihost's FAQ).

I wonder how many people they've suckered into staying on the basis that they're "matching" Afrihost's deal?

SAOL FAIL.

That is a cheap and sneaky move,to prevent people from benefiting from lower costs.

Disgusting business practice SAOL!!!

Before Afrihost I made sure I used last bit of bandwidth I had been bled dry by my previous ISP. This month I will have left over and I do not mind at all - so thank you to Afrihost
