Did you manage to change the solar only charging option? Also refer to the manual I think someone posted it here, there is some setting that when selected it blocks you from changing some parameters. What is your battery type set to? Try setting it to user and see if that won't allow you to change the charging current.
U want me to change the "solar only" charging option to "utility+solar" ?
 
I just checked and saw that the the value had gone up to 30a and had decided to stay there.
 
Are you comfortable with doing the settings on the inverter? because I suspect Watchpower is playing games on you.
So what I understand is when the battery is drained it changes to 30 A and then when its more than 90% it switches to 10A.

Okay, I am very familiar with the Axpert version of the same inverter, you have instantaneous current that you will see when you scroll on the home screen, this current will change depending on how much the battery needs.

The max charging current in the settings value is a set value and doesn't change, you set it, you save it and it stays like that. See the two screenshots you posted in post 8, it shows charging current at 7A and it shows maximum current at 10A.

what you are saying makes sense.
I will try again tomorrow. I have set the "back to grid" voltage to 50(this was 49 before) and back to discharge voltage is 51 so I have kind of achieved what I wanted ... 90% of battery in case there is load shedding and then 10% of buffer for the inverter to work in battery mode.

It jumped back to 30a this morning. Both on the app and on the invertef panel. Dont know what's going on, but it's doing what it should..

yes. It discharges to 80% when there is no sun so I have plenty incase of loadshedding. and able to use solar during the day without having to switch over the priorities.
King inverters can be set at 2A mains charging.
You can also play around with return to mains voltage to discharge battery a bit more while we don't have loadsheding.

This way should maximize solar use.

That inverter is not very reliable. Because what's happening initially it was set at 49volts discharge and 47 as cutoff.
So say at 9pm I used to check and could see that it's taking power from the mains and battery was at 50%.
But then in the morning the battery would be at 10%, somehow it was discharged completely.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the inverter, I think you just need to get used used to the settings, there's plenty of reading around that inverter, it's the same model as the Axpert King, check related threads on the Power forum.
 
I have just had a Kodak OG5.48 Inverter and Kodak FL-5.2 Li-ion Battery installed.
Installer set Back to grid to 48V but getting low battery warning at 52V. Back to Discharge was set at 53V. I changed the Back to grid to 52V to avoid the alarm but now is hovers between the 52 and 53, changing and discharging. I'd like to have the Batt discharge to around 50% to keep some backup for when loadshedding starts again for us in Durban. Any suggestions?
