label maker needed

So my inlaws are started a new business, nothing big, some homemade Indian snack packets and sauces. They are going to a local shop to get their labels printed. I wanted to buy one for them. You know something they can use and I can use too to label stuff around and my kids books.
What's the best option for me? I have a brother ink tank printer, can I use the same one to print labels using a different type of paper? how does that work ? or should I just buy a separate label maker?
 
Printer can work but then you’ll end up doing a lot of manual cutting.

Brother also does label makers which is the best if you want strictly text stuff.

If you want little pictures and things a professional print house is the better way to go.
 
The Brother labeller range are by far the best. We've had one in the shop and it outlasted all the clones
 
Depends on how many labels you are going to print
You can use A4 label sheets ina injket/laser printer but after a while its a PITA once you start printing lots of them.

Check the cricut printer - Incredible Connection sells them
 
We have the Brother BTM90 and also a DYMO handheld. The DYMO's labels are not straight. It has been back to the supplier 3 times and comes back exactly the same

We print about 100 labels a week. You have to be precise with the keyboard

Also got the mains adaptor with it

"Might". My wife is a competition junkie and enters at least 10 a month. She can spot the fake competitions where the prize gets awarded to a non-existent person or a member of staff

Some well-known brands do this regularly
 
The Brother P-Touch works well for me. If you are going to do a large volume of labels you may also want to consider the cost of the media.
 
This is what the local label maker is using. Some kind of ready-made labels are printed with a ribbon.

So wife said no to a lavel maker. Too expensive, it's just worth buying them made from the store.
