Cheap home printer

Same could also happen with originals though?
I had a look at some Pantum generic toner reviews now and there were some negative reviews but none that I could find for exploding toner, most where for non compatibility and the cartridge dying.
It could yeah, but I would expect it more from a generic. Though at the price they are now + the cheapness of the cartridge it's not a bad idea to go for it, if you want only black and white.

That ticks all the boxes and has Wi-Fi, now just find the generic toner options and check what the reviews look like for the toner. That's what I did with my Hp laser, I've been happily running generic toner for the last 3yrs or so, R169 for a high yield cartridge, still on the same one with a spare just in case, what a pleasure.
cartridge is TLC2315H but when I googled a generic did not see anything come up.

which HP do you have?

Google the printer model + generic toner
I have a Samsung M2020 I think it is but it's just a rebranded Hp, very basic entry level Wi-Fi model but that's great because it’s tiny.

i wouldnt use refils on ink catridges its a temporary thing and reusing those heads ...no thanks

the catridges are quiet expensive provide few pages compared to ink tank.

my thought here is you dont want to spend too much now but if you in no rush save up for ink tank you wont regret it. that or use a payment method like a BuyNowPayLater with 0% interest etc.

but its cheaper to buy a inkjet printer than it is to replace the ink....in A way

As an infrequent printer i will never buy cartridge printer again, laser rocks - turn it on & it prints, not spend hours trying to fix why it won't which is normally clogged print head..

Exactly that, any thing with cartridges equals hahaha nozzles blocked let use what's left in the cartridge to "clean" them, game over :(

do printers always state they are laser in the heading or description? coz sometimes I am not sure
laserjet signifies it is a laser printer. (possibly a dumb q but better safe than sorry)

Also what are the very opular cheap laser printers that are reliable, compact and have widely available generic toners? a Corolla/Tazz of laser printers if you will

Normally they will state they are laser.
I think that Pantum will be hard to beat cost-wise.
You comfortable you don't need a scanner?
I grabbed this one a while back & happy with it, is wireless + scanner

Yeah the Pantum price is good but the toner is expensive.
I definitely dont need a scanner.
Currently checking the used market to see whats to offer.
Any brands/models to avoid?

The original is R900 for a Black High Yield Toner Cartridge - Page yield: 1600 pages, which isn't bad.
A generic will be released sooner or later.

Or alternatively look for a 2hnd Pantum that uses the genric Pantum PC210 Compatible Toner Cartridge
Compatible with these Pantum printers :
P2200, P2500, P2500W, M6500, M6500N, M6500W, M6500NW, M6550, M6550N, M6550W, M6550NW, M6600, M6600N, M6600W, and M6600NW printers.

Seen this Pantum BP2305W now and I've never heard of the brand. Is it good? Are the cartridges gonna cost a thousand?
Well damn, needed to replace a cheap printer and remembered this post

Just bought one for R799

Wow!

Same here - my inkjet was great while it was in constant use - then Covid went away and the need for printing went way down - I eventually had to recycle the printer 'cos the print head got clogged and the cost to repair wasn't worth it.

Resurrected the Colour Samsung and it just works when needed.

Yeah but aren't those quite a bit more and mostly companies using them?
I got one for my home\office years ago. Ended up giving it away because the images that came out of it were crap.
