Hi guys

I am looking for a cheap home printer to use after work to print reading material on demand, as I look at screen at work all day.

Never really had a printer before so I think my needs are modest:
Reliable
Cheap
Cheap print costs
Black printing only
WiFi would be nice

So is laser better? Which brands are good?

If I am willing to used can I get something for R500 or less?

Thanks

Seen this Pantum BP2305W now and I've never heard of the brand. Is it good? Are the cartridges gonna cost a thousand?

We have 2 pantums running for general printing. Still running perfectly and toner is cheap as chips.

I've been using an Epson ink tank printer. I can't say enough about it. One of the colour heads has packed up but I only print black anyway. It's been 5 years and counting and I've emptied the black tank once. Cheapest printer I've ever owned.

If that's the same one I looked at last week it doesn't have wifi. Ended up getting the L3252 from Game.

Cheap laser jet might be better for the op.

Wow prices for the cartridges dropped a lot and look easier to find, bought one in 2018 and basically it packed up in 2019 though :( one year after usage. Though that could've been the cartridge fault as it leaked powder all over the printer
Got a brother ink tank in 2020 and it's worked hard and the ink is really cheap and only bought it twice in 5 years with colour being used.

Ink tank all the way.
100% initial outlay expensive, but lifetime costs waaaaaaay down. Having had laser and normal inkjet over COVID for school projects, the ink tank was the most affordable.

How long have you had them?

I am struggling to see what cartridge the Takealot 1 takes

No issues from my Pantum printer. The toner price has gone up. It was so cheap, I did not hesitate to buy:

This dirt cheap toner is a game changer, I use similar toner in my Samsung laser printer and it works flawlessly is high yield(1500 pages if I recall correctly) and outrageously cheap.
R140 for a high yield cartridge 😍😍

The two for R289 link.

Last I check it was significantly more. Will buy end of the month.
For the longest time there used to be no generics available for Pantum and for their cheapie laser printer the replacement toner cost more than printer itself and they came in he box with a cheapie low yield toner.
