@lantic R59 uncapped 'bolt-on' feedback

Would it be possible to dial up two accounts from the same line?

depends on the hardware you run, if you're running pfSense or routerOS I'd be happy to assist, if you're using a consumer router/modem then it might be too tricky to get working correctly.

Got a consumer router right now... looks like there are a few mikrotik routerboards which are affordable so I may be pming you in the near future...

@SA_DUDE
Thanks, will have a look at what routeros options are available.

I wanted to run 2 accounts over pf sense to max out my vdsl but the problem for me is that everything I want the speed for is limited to 1 public ip address ie. Usenet, netflix, hulu, etc.

Would appreciate the RouterOS advice/guide - we could add it in it's own thread as a general service :o

Ah, but you can do things simultaneously now i.e. download a game on steam without affecting the wife's netflix stream

Vox authentication issue resurfaces again ...

Vox authentication issue resurfaces again ... not only me, and not only on Bolt-on ; I see the Fatpipe a/c's also affected, it seems !

http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/629191-Vox-Telecom-Fatpipe?p=15489344#post15489344

EDIT : I was able to reconnect to my VOX connection at 4h15 a.m., so I'm presuming they were messing around with their network overnight, affecting at least some of us.
This therefore has nothing to do with Voxy needing my a/c # (again) to try resolve the prob. - merely a case - as I see it - of them messing us around, without notifying us beforehand via e-mail that there will be downtime , OR , something going wrong after Bolt-on has kicked-in for the night .. Voxy, why don't you arrange for someone in your support to be able to login to MyBB during the night, and post on these 2 primary Vox threads, as to what is going on when there's downtime , especially when clients post of probs. experienced ?

Was under the impression the bolt-on accounts were completely unshaped? I'm seeing a fair amount of shaping on P2P and NNTP though? Did I not read the product description correctly, or is this an anomaly?

It's definitely shaped

Performance varies depending on the NNTP provider.
Both my Bolt-on and fatpipe accounts sucked on Astraweb(Tested every port possible and could only get full speeds on Webafrica and Afrihost/Axxess)
But on Eweka I could get full speed.

Never heard of Eweka - will take a look. Torrents are weird - flies up to full speed, then completely dies, then settles about 5mbps, hence my suspicion of shaping. This was on an extremely well seeded torrent. Will have to do more experimentation.

Frustrating - got a second bolt-on account so I could dial them up simultaneously and load balance on my router for a 20mbps experience. Works great, except that every couple of minutes one or the other will drop the connection for no apparent reason, stay dead, and then reconnect a short while later. Don't have this issue on any other account, and my line is rock steady.

DIsconnection issues have (touch wood) resolved themselves, and NNTP is flying. Very happy thus far.

That is what happens when you all advertise on here that you can get 20mbps unshaped for R120+- per month.
