@lantic R59 uncapped 'bolt-on' feedback

Eish. Be careful when upgrading from the G4G accounts to the fatpipe products guys. Upgraded a client from the G4G + bolt-on uncapped to the 50GB fatpipe + bolt-on uncapped on the last day of April. She received a bill recently for the period in question for excess usage of 50GB on the G4G account. She got a heart attack. Obviously.

Was thinking it would be a simple 5 minute call to vox accounts to fix it but I was sadly mistaken! Landed up with Chantell on Thursday after the first lucky call centre agent made my blood boil. She erred on the side of caution and suggested we get a usage report from technical support. Dropped her a mail on Friday but when I called she was already out for the day. Phoned up technical support that did not see any problems with the R750 as it was clearly "used" but Siphiwe was unable to assist me with a usage report as the G4G account was canceled and does not exist anymore and suggested I call up the accounts department. Van bakboord na stuurboord. Blood boiling again, so I got passed along to someone else. She instructed poor Siphiwe what to do and I got the usage report shortly afterwards proving the 50GB of usage... Excel counted usage of 17GB in total. Of that 17GB just the one Saturday alone accounted for 10GB thereof that would fall under off-peak. Phoned vox ... again ... (I'm way over my initial 5 minute budget by now)

Spoke to technical support, Michael Van Staden - he did not spend too much time looking at the info in front of him to realize what I have known from the start - that 50GB was charged in error. Now to get the accounts department to see what the heck I'm going on about and arrange a refund ... and a half by now.

Yeah I did it in a matter that won't cause billing issues.....

If you are on gig4gig with uncapped bolt on and want to change to fatpipe and bolt on do this.

Just create your new fat pipe account. Then email or phone support to have the uncapped bolt on moved from gig4gig to fat pipe.

Change the gig4gig to allow "0" extra gigs to be used. There you go. You got the fatpipe account with bolt on and a extra 1GB account for free. :-)

My first month with Vox DSL. Have ordered the uncapped bolt-on option but it hasn't been activated yet.

Using the 50GB fat pipe account, so far speeds looking good (though it is midnight on a weekend).

With regards to the uncapped side of the deal, does it run at whatever speed your line is or have different speeds at different prices?

So now since the new months allocation got added last night I now how 195GB of unshaped peak data usage and unshaped uncapped afterhours......

I really do like this account a lot! :)

Got my "bolt-on" activated today. Will run some tests tonight.

"Bolt-on" just sounds weird though, sounds like something lesbian robots would use or maybe Michael Bolt-on.

I can relate to this. Took me over 2 weeks to resolve a usag/billing issue with Vox, and I still don't know if they've truly fixed it, although they've assured me they have. I'll see if they've actually fixed it when I get my statement around the 10th.

Downloading Diablo 3 at 4MB/sec. Guess they can call it bolt-on or strap-on or whatever they want if it stays like this :D

Wow, after you joined all my YouTube vids stream in 240p.

Thanks a lot, guess the party is over folks.

Lol :D

Don't worry it downloaded so quickly you wouldn't have noticed. Latencies pretty good too in game, getting between 180-200ms.
