@lantic R59 uncapped 'bolt-on' feedback

Thankyou and will keep fingers crossed ;)

Hi guys,

As promised, here's an update on the CPT IPC:

We anticipate Telkom to fulfill our request by Tuesday next week. There is a possibility that it will be done sometime tomorrow, but our expectation (due to experience with Telkom) is mid-next week.

Cross fingers, hold thumbs, what ever you do in these circumstances.

Regarding "things not working" flood of posts -- once again, if you're in CPT, it's a known issue and hopefully Telkom upgrades our IPC before the weekend.

Once the IPC is upgraded (confirmed by a post from me), please let me know if you are unable to get to MyBroadband forums.

Regards,
Chris

By chance are you running PeerBlock or something similar?

If so, check that application hit list when you're trying to get to MyBroadband or a Vox site. I'd be very curious to see if something comes up.

I was doing some checking last night, and found a lot of our IP range is being blocked by PeerBlock (iBlockList host) due to the congestion on the network, it got us onto that list.

Disable such peer blocking applications and try again, let me know if this is the case or not.

Regards,
Chris

In my case, I am using pfBlocker (pfSense) but I am only blocking known spammers, hackers and dodgy countries. Again though, this issue only affects my Vox account, I have tried Telkom, FNBConnect, WebAfrica and Afrihost, all of which have no issues with MyBB.

I have posted a few traceroutes to help you guys diagnose the issue, here is one from last night:

Code:
traceroute to ox.mybroadband.co.za (197.242.89.168), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets

This is great news :) I hope Telkom doesn't let us down.

The IPC upgrade if it goes through when planned was done quickly If i think back at how long Afrihosts took.

So I am in JHB and had an issue getting onto MyBB last night while on my Vox account - although I was busy and unable to test properly and it did start working again about 10 minutes later.

I'm getting very sluggish speeds and torrents are dead for me. Max 250KB/s then it just drops to 0KB/s. Can anyone confirm this? I'm using a Fatpipe 50GB account which is supposed to be unshaped. My Telkom softcap account is flying on the same download.

Connection is pretty bad today. Looks like Vox also getting bitten by the iOS update bug.

That IPC upgrade cannot come soon enough.

Local downloads going at less than half my line speed (normally around 3.8 - 4MB/s):

Aaannndddd, I'm capped again, with plenty Gigs remaining.
Taking them 2 days to sort it.

If I am getting issues with the bolt-on uncapped, I would not complain that much, but this issue is with the Fatpipe service!

@Voxy, do you have anyone there that can fix this issue??

After a lot of investigation, the problem has been rectified.

Chris

Yeah JHB IPC is taking a beating Today.... Mybroadband.co.za is dead on my Vox account. Torrents are going at 20KB/s IF I'm lucky. speedtest.net is failing to load at all.

100ms+ on the JHB site meaning all latency has increased by +-60ms local and international.

Tracert for mybb which is still not accessible.....

There was a problem found with Africa INX (peering partner) and has since been resolved by them.

Please let me know via private message if you experience this problem again.

Cape Town still may have a problem until the IPC upgrade is finished, if you are in Cape Town and experience this problem, please don't inbox me... It's a known problem for CPT IPC.

Well it is interesting, I have access to a few accounts.

IS IPC CPT : High Latency during the day
VOX IPC CPT : High Latency during the day and at night
Cybersmart IPC CPT : I don't see any latency on these currently, but I do see packet loss
FNB IPC JHB : I don't see any latency on these currently (I am in Cape Town, but they only have JHB IPC)
Telkom IPC : I don't see any latency on these

Don't have an account on the MTN or M-Web networks so don't know anything about those.

Just got home and also can't access mybb

Besides the mybb problem, looks like JHB IPC needs an upgrade too.

NNTP getting fullspeed at the moment but I see torrents aren't even connecting (but I see tvtorrents is down too so can't really check now :().

@wingnut771

Yeah the JHB IPC is taking a serious beating today. Its very congested and as a result it looks like p2p is being shaped. I'm unable to download ANY torrents today.

Hi cavedog, ye, torrents are normally the first to go when the network gets loaded which is why I use them to measure an ISP's performance.

I haven't even updated my phone yet, maybe I should jump on the wagon also :p

@cvanwie

So when's the JHB IPC upgrade? ;)

Maybe you should get the AfricaINX guys looking at what the issue is with MyBB and Cape Town guys as well. I know the Cape Town IPCs are congested, but that doesnt explain why MyBB doesn't open at all. Everything else open, just slower because of the congestion, not completely broken as is the case with MyBB.

I'm having problems connecting with Vox tonight. Can only access their site. Anybody else having the same issues?
Im in JHB/Fourways area.

I'm also having issues, certain websites aren't loading. Some local ones, mybb included. Although I can access Carbonite and Facebook and speedtest etc.

Using my WA account at the moment.

Pings on Vox are not fun, certainly no good for gaming.
