Laptop freezing?

I tried then for other probs i had.. All i can say is that, that has to be one of the most useless forums ever...

I agree, I saw someone with 2000 posts that had the worst advice to give that I've ever heard, anywhere.

If you go to task manager, processes tab and sort the processes in reverse cpu% sequence by clicking on the cpu header twice, you should get a fair idea of what is hogging your CPU.

Some causes in my experience have been Mccafee antivirus trying to get updates.l

I also see on this forum that Windows service pack 3 caused network problems

I have SP1. I would strongly suggest you install it though as most "hotfixes" I found on Microsoft's site that deals with Wifi issues, are included in SP1.

Either do it via Windows Update, or get the stand alone installer. If you are going to reinstall sometime soon, get the stand alone rather.

Anyways, that could mean drive failing...do u hear clicking sounds from the drive?
