Latest iPhone update is causing battery problems

You can sell 100 million tons of manure a year, sales stats don't indicate quality or brand loyalty it isn't as clear cut as that.It is just sales volume information not statistical analyse of the information you need to look at warranty returns, hardware failure rates, market share, repeat customers ect. Once you have that we can start discussing whether or not there is quality or loyalty to be had.

For example iphones, due to price it is unlikely consumers will buy their phone cash outright, so will resort to credit or contract when getting an iphone in some markets and portion of other markets as an example.Take away credit and contract and then have a look a brand loyalty. Large portion of devices sold are a direct result of credit and contract offerings, same applies to any other brand competing, so yes it is an impulse buy as it is easy, loyalty isn't that great as you would like to think. Additionally you can also look at what the consumer is willing to pay and considering most of it will be on credit or contract, apple pretty much priced it as such to take full advantage of credit and contract.

Have a look at returns and warranty claims as well as hardware failures for quality information.

Sales means nothing without context to be honest, so no weak argument......

Golden years ended with jobs, and additionally what I said a few posts above.

Just between you and me it isn't about hating Apple, it is about looking at the company as a whole and not just the device, as I said before Apple hardware is pretty awesome, but I don't agree with their practices, value and right to repair, ect and most of all their OS I don't agree with it, batterygate is enough for me to advise people not to get apple.

I don't hate Samsung , just think their value is poor their quality soddy and too much bloatware. You need to make the distinction between hate and dislike as well as informed choice and impulse buying.

Why do you still support Apple, even after batterygate opposing the right to repair bill, denying repair shops to Apple spares and when they do make it extremely difficult to get any thing repaired or replaced. If you tell me because their product is good, you are neither worth my time or effort.
If you can show me one single large company that will agree with any of your practices, then maybe you have an argument. Every large company has skeletons (ask VW how their Dieselgate is panning out).
I support Apple because I like their phones. No bloat like with Android where no 2 phones have the same experience. My iPad, iPhone(s) and iPod are all the same. Nothing new to get used too. The ecosystem works, and works very well. That is where brand loyalty comes in. My iPhone 6 still receives updates. If I turned on my Xperia Z1, there would be zero updates. So the phone, much to some peoples dislike, actually is supported for longer.

All phones break. It's not an Apple thing, so your argument falls flat. My Sony Xperia Z1 had a screen that cracked all on its own and it was down to a known fault that I had to fight with Sony to fix under warranty.

I looked at sales, but since you have mentioned these faults, then you need to quote here to bolster your argument. Monthly reports are made on car sales and not on the number of in-warranty cars returned for fixing during the month. Same with phones.

Most companies are downscaling with the 4IR and looking for cheaper production avenues, which is why some large automotive companies haven't invested here in RSA despite having factories here, and have looked to Africa instead. Cheaper.

Apple have had issues with their phones and have announced repair programmes immediately. So your argument falls flat there. They do it like other manufacturers.

nope, and this is also another reason why,
cant support a company that does this to generate sales and profits,

almost ANC levels of criminality.
So people pay more for an 'experience' they like?

Quite OK with me if they choose to do that.

My question was more for @wizardofid who is starting to make ridiculous posts to try and prove a point, and a point is being proven, but maybe not as intended.

Makes sense, Windows for the Mac, Android for the iPhone, just not sure about the iPad just yet.

This is like the Glock vs. CZ threads on gun forums and pages
Yeah, no thanks though. I'd still prefer iOS to Android on the iPhone. It's slicker and smoother. Had both so that's my view at least. And my Android phone was the Xperia Z1 so no slouch!

As I said. TSEK!

Phones break. Much like anything else. Also, knowing you, it's probably been dropped 50 times while you were drunk or knobbing your caravan.
Now that is one thing I am very good at, looking after phones. In all my 70 years on this planet I have never to this day dropped a phone, not even once.

this,

easy to solve problems with Apple, just buy another, pointless trying to fix it,
apple isn't interested in fixing your problem, just want more money from you buying another of their worthless devices.

a more pure form of planned obsolescence I dont think exists.
This comment doesn't resonate with my experience - my Android phones tended to just die on me after about 26 months - it what eventually drove me to Apple - so far my X is about 34 months old and still going strong. My wife's old iPhone 6 (yes, iPhone 6) is still being used daily by one of the kids.

my iphone 6 packed up a month ago
the screen has a mind of its own and just starts typing whatever it wants and launches all the apps.
Do a shutdown and start again and it behaves for a little

but its now so bad that when i switch it on it wont accept my 6 digit code, so ive tossed it into the drawer and using my android work phone as it is a dual sim. Screw Apple
One of those pakistani okes will sort you out with a replacement screen/digitiser for a couple of hundred ZAR

Android user here but I do have the first gen iPad Air which still runs like a horse even after having the screen replaced and having the device dropped countless number of times.

Got an iPhone 6 I have turned into a "home phone" for the kids to call their cousins out of town on FaceTime or use WhatsApp to chat to friends. 5.5 years old now. Works like a bomb. AND I replaced the screen twice myself (once because it gave up the ghost; the other because my youngest accidentally knocked it out of my hand. Both times were Chinese knockoffs from Amazon and worked like a bomb!).

The difference between android and apple is with android it is a bug and would be fixed, with apple they either do it intentionally or throttle older phones and use the excuse of saving battery life.

So one phone brand having issues, equals the entire android world being guilty, that makes it okay after a long list of fkups by apple and getting sued due to intentional dubious practices. Well okay then....
not this tripe again...
