Latest iPhone update is causing battery problems

actually no, Phones Break because they DESIGNED that way,
its completely possible to keep a phone going forever with updates and new parts, almost like a ancient Citi golf.

look at this android phone, best idea for a phone Ive ever seen.

break a screen, put in a new one, battery wears out, get another.
drop it in the drink, dry it out, and it will still work.
No, dude.

Your argument is predicated on the Android being repairable and the iPhone not. But it is. he just hasn't done it. A Citi golf with a blown motor is repairable, but still fooked until you fix it. Much like the iPhone.

If his phone has a fooked screen and he doesn't fix it, is that a phone fault or a user fault?

Often wanted a kill switch that explodes the phone in the thief's pocket.

Entirely possible if you have the coding skills. Shouldn't be too difficult to overload the battery and bypass all of the shutdown/safety protocols.

But then the likes of Apple, Samsung, Huawei etc. won't have you hooked into the latest device. Which is why they're releasing one every year as "the best phone ever". Phones designed around logic and sustainability simply go against the profit model.

I actually replaced the screen on my iPhone 6 with a non-approved Apple screen from Amazon.com in 2018 after it started to fail. Took me an hour due to the small screws. Got everything I needed and the screen worked brilliantly.
Took me 30 minutes the second time I had to do this after my phone was accidentally knocked out of my hand by my youngest. You can replace anything on the phone if you want too. lots of videos out there to help. Amazon stocks almost all of it too.
And they do so for Android too, just in case some flameboi decided to nail me for that ;-)

again, missing the point.

Iphone "might" be fixable, if you have parts and time , but then apple kills it later on with the battery saying its not an Apple genuine battery.
or something else they do to sabotage their OWN devices to FORCE you to upgrade.

Android, no such trickery on most android phones, it keeps going forever.
crack a screen, fixable, and then spend time on rooting and it can run the latest and greatest without issues.

so whats your point? you buy a Decent android phone, and you can pretty much keep it going forever.
apple makes you trash a perfectly working phone for no reason, except profit.

thats my main issue here.

why though, dont you think its wrong?
I mean cars aren't designed that way
at least cars not made for rockafella aren't.

planned obsolescence is a major thing with Iphones, not so for others.
unfortunately, yes, do agree many are going down the Route of apple as it makes more money for them.

so I try stay as far away from them as possible.

apple is about PROFIT above all else, go back to their roots even,
first Apple PC's, blocked ports for expansion,
while the equivalent windows PC had that extra connection for extra Slots on the main board.

same thing with their phones, why cant IOS run on a original Iphone?
because they designed it that way to fail.
so you go and BUY another,

same thing with everything apple does, its DESIGNED to fail, not Designed to be fixed

lets not forget if you do attempt to fix via a none authorized shop, the chances are slim that you will be able to do so, considering apple has given strict instructions to their hardware suppliers not to release any hardware components. If you do import spares like in the US, whether legit apple parts new or secondhand, the parts is labeled counterfeit and get confiscated, because only apple and their authorized repair stores is allowed to handle spares.

Every thing is intentionally glued down and special screws this or that, even going as far as pairing hardware parts with that specific phone.

SSD broke replace the entire board.
Display cable ribbon bend or broken, replace the entire board and screen.
Screen broke replace the entire board and screen.
Replace the battery, let adds costs to replace the logic board as well

I seem to remember cases of people sending stuff in for repair and getting back refurbished hardware instead for some thing as simple as a SSD failure.

Crazy part is the isheeple are aware of this, and STILL support them. Had a samsung phone was crap, but you don't see me going out and buying another one.

Still have my old S4 mini, fixed it myself with another broken unit,
upgraded to Android 11 pixel experience, works like a dream, and best of all, removable battery, the ultimate longevity in a phone.

what you say WONT happen, as not everybody agrees that phones need to be locked down so heavily.
I mean even myself, rooted phone, but still able to run the mcnazi app, even with rooting.
very nice! I've still got my S3 running Android 10 for trivial things and a replaced battery One M8 still runs really well over here.

btw, what part did you mean here? I never said phones need to be locked down, I'm against this model

Except on forums of course...

I sit here, reading your fanboyism whilst, out the corner of my eye, my old iPhone 5s sits, waiting to be used. It works perfectly; bar the battery life being poor. Then again it is something like 8 years old so that’s expected. I could replace the battery, but haven’t found a need.

So, whilst I understand what you are saying, the evidence of the inaccuracy of what you are saying is before my very eyes.

somebody with Brains that actually work,

makes me mad others dont see Apple for what it is, a giant moneymaking scam.
or a cult,

Why?

It is their choice, not so?

Does it harm you in any way?

Edit: Trying to understand the deep hate which is so bad people have to continuously tell others how wrong they are in spending their money the way the want to.

in your previous post you said safetynet and locking down,
yes, when you buy a apple phone, thats what you have to deal with.

android, Magisk has a Hide function, can use the mcnazi app no problem.

no, it is their choice,
correct you are,

problem I have is the Complaining about it,
you brought a Apple device, pointless complaining the battery is dead, or apple forcing the battery to be slow,
just get another.

your on Contract, so no problem, sell it, give it to the kids,
not my problem, get a Iphone 99 for all I care,

just DONT come complain about ANYTHING with it.

My four year old Moto Z is stuck on Android 8 while my four year old iPhone 7 still gets regular updates. Heck - even my Papa Smurf iPhone 6 got an update last month.

and when you fix it up, it will work for what? another 2 years, before Apple makes the CPU so slow it barely boots up properly.

again, planned obsolescence.

Oh! You completely misread that hehe, SafetyNet and such is an Android feature, and whether we like it or not, it's new hardware fuse integrations in future releases and devices will completely kill custom ROMs in the sense that you can run mainstream applications, and more apps like the one you mentioned can at anytime update to integrate it (i.e. Magisk hide will be a thing of the past sadly). Here in South Africa it's a non issue still because we only mainly have banks to worry about and most are lenient, but overseas you can't really integrate into society with their eID software that refuses to run on anything but pure untouched stock and iDevices.

As I mentioned, and as well, I don't like Apple, at all, and will absolutely refuse to touch the other things they make, especially the extremely poor laptops and desktops, but for the time being, it's less stress on me to get a device cleaned up and trackers removed plus I've personally never had issues most news articles publicize, so I use those for the time being. I won't praise them or belittle Android users because we all use what works best and appeals to us the most, and worshipping either side doesn't help discourse.

until you decide to root it and unleash its full potential,

I used to be like this as well, leave it alone, until the "life" timer on my Galaxy pocket made it barely usable,
took it to samsung a number of times. until they told me out of warranty.

then I celebrated!
flashed ICS on it, and worked brilliantly for another 2 years.

Looks like a lot of complaints are on Apple specific forums, why is it such an issue to people who have 'moved on' from Apple?

Just don't read all the complaints?

Only people in this thread complaining about Apple seem to be people not using Apple anymore.

Just does not make sense to me, but it is not limited to phones.

Anyway, I will stop telling you to not let it bother you, that is also your choice
