Lawn Renovations

I see Barenbrug has a branch in Pretoria. I will pay them a visit.

How much will cost to cover around 100sqm in seeds?
For the RTF you need 4kg/100m2, I paid R1 035 for 5kg.

I've used just over 4kg to seed the lawn because I had to reseed a section where I moved a sprinkler. The remainder will be used to fill in gaps.

Look up Grasses and Greens supplies in Edenvale.
They supply all their seeds.

They are legit.

Thank you. Please give us more feedback as time goes before I pull the trigger. I might have about 500sqm to do at the end.

I currently have a team on site to plant some grass. It's a patch that used to be in the shade, but after clearing the brush a bit, it's getting some good sun.
Everything I tried in the past didn't really help, so here's hoping.

Replaced my normal popups with rain bird 5004 rotors, getting full coverage of the lawn now. Also sprayed some wetting agent and a light application of 2:3:2 fertilizer

I see I'm going to struggle with the bermuda that is popping up everywhere, fortunately there is a big difference in how it looks so will be able to pull it out by hand. Should maybe have done a roundup to kill it off completely before doing the new seed. The problem is I did not want to lose another 4 weeks, and the current weather is perfect for this grass.

Bad/stupid idea to aerate ground will a drill? Not sure if a spike roller will be effective on a "concrete" ground. Watered a slightly slopy ground and some parts are still hard.
It might take me 8 years to aerate 200sqm with a drill. I tried a few spots and took me a few minutes to cover just 1sqm

Digging through roots with a hand shovel for 3 hours to find a leaking solenoid only to find the it's not there.

Why the F*** would you install a solenoid underground. Now I have to dig up my new grass and follow the comms cable to who knows where.

Nooit wtf. Who would put a solenoid by the sprayer? Does not make sense
Speaking of. I have one that is leaky at home. I use a simple tuyu/smartlife-based 4-channel/zone unit. No Rainbird or Hunter fancy systems.

How are everyone's lawns doing? We need some decent penetrating rain.

The mofo warthogs got inside. Can't tell where. Checked them on the camera chowing away at the one Protea plant and another 2 fscking up the grass. Moeeere.

Holiday home atm.
