Lawn Renovations

How are everyone's lawns doing? We need some decent penetrating rain.

The mofo warthogs got inside. Can't tell where. Checked them on the camera chowing away at the one Protea plant and another 2 fscking up the grass. Moeeere.

Holiday home atm.

Mine looks gevrek. But been like this since we moved in. I am not spending money on someone elses property. I just keep it neat and tidy and weed free. They rest is up to nature.

Nooit wtf. Who would put a solenoid by the sprayer? Does not make sense
Speaking of. I have one that is leaky at home. I use a simple tuyu/smartlife-based 4-channel/zone unit. No Rainbird or Hunter fancy systems.
 Ja ja, I managed to find the solenoid, stopped the "leak" by tightening the valve on top. My rainbird controller stopped working over the winter so I've replaced it with an esp32 and double relay.

Not sure if posted, but have you mowed yet?

Beed raining nicely today in harties plaas. I just put some fertilizer on the lawn to take advantage of the rain. Hopefully it rains more tonight and tomorrow. It might rain the whole week.

Needs some serious top dressing & levelling.

Best machine ever. Mine has worked its teeth blunt. Bought some extra tines from the UK. Should get another season out of the current tines.

That is a stupid price for what you get. The machine that keeps on giving.

Remember to post pics of the million black bags you're gonna fill.

I bought a leveler and a roller (and some power tools) because of you. Went broke and couldn't buy top soil.

Lmfao.

Buy once cry once.
Dude, just make sure that the topsoil is weed-free and clean.

There are too many guys digging up whatever kak soil and selling it. Once you spread that shiit on your lawn, it's over.

True. I went to this old man that has the best lawn around and he mentioned the same thing. He buys his from Stanler Farms, which I already used for my rose garden soil.
I'm hoping to buy top soil next month.

We adjusted the reel mower HOC at the holiday place, and it took off too much of the LM's green blades, exposing the roots too much.
Just check what a bit of rain can do.

Was a wet mow. Not a fan of mowing when the grass is wet or damp.
I really have an issue with my soil. Something is missing. The lawn is just not doing as well as it should.

Any updates?
Nope. Been busy with a billion things and haven't bought top soil yet.

My backyard lawn has been terrible for two years. Weeds galore. Neglected. It will need some overseeding.
