Well it boils down to intent, doesn't it? I've seen lots of players going for the ball and accidentally clip the opposition player, that, though being a foul is not blatantly cheating.

So Tevez is not a cheat for not pointing out his first goal was clearly offside, Nauer is not a cheat for NOT pointing out the ball had crossed the line, blah blah blah.
Cheat should be the players that "cheat" the ref into thinking they deserve the cards/penalty/etc. hence why TV replays should be introduced to stamp this out, but Suarez's hand ball is simple, RED CARD and Penalty awarded to the opposite team.
As what smokey said in the beginning people shouldn't moan about his hand ball as he faced the conseqences of hand balling that ball. People should look at Gyan is say WTF - as a striker you should tuck those penalty away.

Suarez just did it in a much more open way at a pivotal moment in the game.
Throwing yourself to the ground in the middle of the field in order to score a penalty kick is hardly pivotal... but it is still cheating.
Come now... seriously... now we are just repeating ourselves and going around in circles.
if you think his cheating is fine... just come out and say it and be done with it... then we can move on.

In football terms he was penalised for committing a professional foul and not for cheating, so whether you consider what he did cheating or not he was penalised for a professional foul.
I my opinion the reason why this is so controversial is because it seems that the punishment does not fit the crime. Lets say this happend in the first 10 min of the game and Uraguay played the rest of the game with 10 men and still won on penalties after extra time. I would seem that they were punished and they held on bravely and deserved to win.
The way this happend leaves a bit of a bad taste in the mouth.
More interesting would be how many of the neutrals will still be cheering for Uraguay come Tuesday.

So had Gyan buried that penalty would you think people would condemn Suarez? Perhaps people would shoot him cos he conceeded a penalty and got sent off...

If the penalty was good people would still condemn him, but will feel that he was punished sufficiently for his crime. The way this went down just seems he got away with murder.
Personally I would not have liked to win like that, but this is professional sport so anything to get there I guess.

He didn't cheat - but do I think his action broke a law? Yes. It was wrong. Even the ref though so and that's why he carded him and awarded the penalty.
Why was this incident any more pivotal (or less) than any other? Just because the score was even? If Ghana were 5-0 up would anyone care? If Ghana were 5-0 down would anyone care? You can't use the argument that in this case it meant the difference between Ghana going through as the only justification for it being pivotal. You cannot predict what will happen - ask Brazilian supporters - in a game.
A law was contravened and the appropriate sanction was applied - case closed.
You want to reopen it - please petition FIFA to change the laws.
I am not saying that you have to like it, but you are going to have to live with it.

They don't have to change the laws.
They can charge Suarez under the existing "Fair play" FIFA statute for bringing the game into disrepute and ban him for a few years.
The laws are there, they just don't enforce them.
