LCD and Plasma Bargains and Discussions thread

I have a stupid question.. My viewing distance for the lounge would be 3 to 4 meters, with one couch directly ahead and another aligned in an L shape you could say. The direct couch would be 4, while the aligned one would be a bit more than 3

Would a 48" be large enough, or would you recommend going to 55" - 60" range (maybe even more?)

Internet size charts will have you at 60+ for those distances. Take a tape measure to a store and have a look.

Anything you get will "shrink" as you get used to it.

In my experience (went from 42" to 50" and now 64"), you can never go too big. Get the biggest you can afford while keeping the quality of the unit on the upper end of the scale.

I've never heard of anyone returning a TV because it was too big... :)

Go max within the size/quality/budget constraints.

Is it just me, or does this seem like a great deal?

Are you experienced with the Sinotec brand? That price seems a bit high for me, seems more like a Sammy / Sony price for that size

Found the review from hdtvtest.co.uk

" not only the worst 4K TV we’ve tested, it’s also one of the worst-performing televisions we’ve reviewed to date in terms of image quality."

Thanks, it looked too good to be true...

I think that is just how they categorise them. If the TV is either LED or OLED, it goes into the LED/OLED category...

Makes more sense, or a sneaky marketing method to catch uninformed customers tricking them into buying it

The LG 55LB652 is on promotion at makro for R11 999.
They are having some sort of supplier evening on Wednesday from 6-8pm on which most appliances and electronics will be a further 10% off.
That price does seem very tempting. Does anyone have experience with the TV.
