LCD and Plasma Bargains and Discussions thread

So Dion wired sold all 600 UHD 50" TV's in one day. So what now????

Need to either wait for the next special or just pay the normal price.

Have you tried to order online? I bought mine 3 days after launch and store said they were expecting more stock this Monday past.

And they have stock. :D

Cool beans. I know the Pmb branch was expecting stock this week. But I didn't want to wait so we drove down to Dion Wired in Toti and picked it up.

At that stage (Saturday afternoon), DW Gateway were already out of stock.

It is pentile. The TV is absolute crap, that is why is so cheap. Pity that such a great technology came to an end with a TV like this.

Obviously it's pentile as any review will mention, the question was interpreted as "Is pentile crap?" to which the answer is "No."

Certainly not a crap TV, suggest reading your review.

So I haven't been able to find any documents with the best TV settings and calibration for the Hisense I bought so was wondering if anyone knows how a "dummies" guide or general settings that I can adjust after making the changes on the TV?

Why did you buy a hisense and not a samsung though? that just seems...weird :wtf:

Cause the family weren't budging on 3D plus the hisense was 55". Told them next TV will be up to me tho. By then UHD will be more widely used I rate.

Has anyone tried to hook up the Samsung 50" UHD as a monitor yet?
I am keen to know how it will perform/what your comments might be.

Any kind of graphics card necessary, or will it just look like a normal HD monitor?
