Isn't MQ's as well?
Nope. It is an LCD TV.

Isn't MQ's as well?
Only a bad example provided the Mecer's panel type is different to the 24" (which is a TN panel).
TN panels have the fastest response times...
Oh I think you do have the issues, you just either don't notice them (perhaps due to viewing distance, eyesight) or they just don't bother you enough.
"What you don't know won't hurt you" comes to mind.
Rugby, soccer and F1 are slow sports compared to tennis and golf. How are they?
HD stuff is 99% of the time good on any HD (>720p) screen. Never an issue there.
What is it about "colours" you are talking about?
Not sure I follow...comparing a PC screen to a TV is NOT a bad example?
Well If I "don't notice them" how bad CAN it be? My eyesight is actually 100%. The "colours" I was referring to was the different shades of black and the depth of blacks mentioned in the hundreds of previous posts re. LCD vs Plasma. And you are right...I have massive motion blur issues when watching tennis and gholf <snip>
Uh, well it's a fact that plasma, as a technology, has deeper blacks than LCD. This is especially true at the entry to the market. Hell, I'm not bothered by the blacks on my Samsung LA32C550, I just know that my PS42C450 is better, and so preferred for movies etc if I'm feeling anal...
No one ever said that it would be a concern. However, put it up against plasma before buying either tech and you will be concerned.
Your examples are based on one experience.
Yeah, thought as much re the tennis (I'm hetro) and golf.
Guess I will get a LCD to test from one of my suppliers and see for myself. Possibly the only way to go. And I do value your input by the way...otherwise I wouldn'y have bothered having a chat to you about it. It is just that I got the feeling from reading your posts that buying a LCD would be a huge mistake and practically unusable for watching sport. Nothing personal....
When did this thread (again!) degenerate into a "LCD vs Plasma, + hertz + what settings must I use + everying else thats not a bargain" thread

Yesterday afternoon when I saw PostmanPot here and started chatting to him about it.

Just checking on some prices and will post some bargains soon...
Yep, but that is a PC screen, right - not a TV.
Redeemed!
Did the Samsung LA32D550 32" LCD at R3,499 from Dion Wired (and possibly other Massmart stores) end on Sunday, at the same time the LA40D550 (R4,999) ended? Both excellent specials. Also seems like they're mainly SQ (Samsung) panels which is very positive.

I just realised something...I am not allowed to "advertise" here am I. So all the specials we are currently running on Samsung LCD. LED and Plasma cannot be posted here. Any other way of doing it above board without getting flamed?
