Worth adding that the average member of the ISP would probably be downloading terabytes of data per month. Not sure which rich forumite will have the money to keep the ISP going.

Worth adding that the average member of the ISP would probably be downloading terabytes of data per month. Not sure which rich forumite will have the money to keep the ISP going.

What if we got google invloved, approached them , whats the thing people take with them, a proposal is it? present them with enough facts that it is indeed sustainable and profits will be obtained over lets say a 10 year period.
This can work but from someone way more knowledgeable than i.
Not to mention we have all sorts of people on the forum that are just itching for their name to be out there....eg HavocXphere ... chief bandwidth technical advisor
but all joking aside. Its not impossible.

I think that instead of a member of mybb try start up and ISP, maybe mybb should start an ISP. They have the resources, they have the connections, they have the support, all they need is the moola wouldn't it be great if mybb started its own ISP?
MyBroadband ISP would be the real deal. Competing against mweb and openweb on uncapped. That would be awesome. Maybe rpm should look into this

Let's also make a car. Reliable (lasts for > 10 years without any major hitches), Looks great (has to look like a super car), Is fast (> 450 BHP) and Is cheap ( ~ R120 000). Life is all about trade-offs

Also the current market's not conductive to start-ups.
What you can do is to start a virtual ISP, get a good customer base, and once that is going, switch over from a virtual ISP (piggyback on somebody else) to a real ISP (with real hardware etc).
