LG G3

Joh, that's quite expensive. I noticed MTN's leaflets they say "free quick circle case valued at R299". Obviously there is a cheaper one that MTN dishes out. Such bs

I'm keen to get a phone to store my music on , reviews are saying LG G3 has a very good audio dac.
Second hand there's an offer for R2500 which seems reasonable, pictures show now scratches etc.

32gb + 64gb micro sd gives me plenty of space.

Faults to make me think twice?

i had 1, sold it and bought an iphone5, sold the iPhone 5 and bought a another G3 (Still using it). Both G3's had HORRIBLE battery life, My iPhone easily outlasts it 2 fold.
Other people here on the forum say they don't have this issue, so i probably had back luck.
Besides the k@k battery, absolutely amazing phone. if the battery lasted a day, i would used this phone indeterminately.

Edit,
I removed the phone from the charger at around 6:45 this morning, i have used the phone light to moderately today, its on 15% batter life now. My Iphone5s would have been on +- 60% - 70% with the same use. And Iphones are not known for their great battery life.

All these phone manufactures keeps on upgrading the camera, the screen, RAM, CPU etc, and all we actually REALLY want is a fcking battery that lasts 2 days. There is nothing as frustrating as having your phone die on you when you need it.

It's really not as bad as you describe. You probably have a dud battery. And he wants to use it for music, which will not use a lot of battery.

This is offer I was looking at, R2800 32gb second hand - http://www.gumtree.co.za/a-lg/east-london/lg-g3-32gb-brand-spanking-new/1001691241230910407293409

Orange Store R3920 New and 16gb

http://store.orange.com/za/mobile-phones/sim-free-phones/lg-g3-metallic-black-262229/

Large 2K screen , additional storage and this are what draw me to this device

This means if you're properly into your tunes, then 50MB FLAC files will be noted with a small 'Hi-Fi' icon next to them, and sound really rather nice. But even the tunes you've ripped in low quality from a CD sound OK – nothing amazing, but team the LG G3 with a decent pair of headphones and you've got a brilliant sound system.

I'm sorry was that a question? Are you asking if you came across it or telling us?

It seems the G3 has "hissing" issues when headphones are connected, iv got D855

Tried the fix of connecting headphones, then disconnecting and dialing voicemail then connecting again and it does work but apparently reappears after reboot.

If you enable airplane mode the quality of sound jumps up a bit and sound is more crisp.

I just came across this threrad. I have the LG G3 Beat and never ever again will I touch another LG. The amount of issues I have had has put my off getting another LG

The G3 Beat is the only phone I've ever returned after buying. It was absolute rubbish.

I've had the G2 - was an awesome phone at the time.

The G3 was an amazing phone but the lag wasn't so good. This was fixed with Android 6 and is now the best used phone in that price bracket IMO.

Skipped the G4 as a result of the bootloop issues.

Currently using a G5 and I find it to be an absolutely amazing phone. It's probably my pick of all the Android phones I've had with the Note 5 and Z5 being the only two coming close to it (haven't tried an S7 as of yet though).

You are brave coming to these parts, talking bad about LG...My first G3 was amazing. But the second one is a real piece of ****. Restarts multiple times each and every day, restarts when taking photos (sometimes) . Restarts when turning on the GPS.
Battery life is laughable.
Don't know if it's the glass cover, but sometimes the screen is non responsive.

I doubt it's the glass cover. Those have never given me issues on any phone, including the G3. Maybe your screen was replaced and you don't know about it if you bought a used one... If it was never replaced, it must be a manufacturing defect
