LG G4

Still love the phone, disappointed about the updates though.

Looks like mines hit the bootloop wall.
It froze, switched off on its own accord, wouldn't power up, pulled the battery left it reinserted it and retried the power button - it'll boot and then switch off immediately. It doesn't respond to the charger being plugged in etc. The phone has been having this freeze/lagginess for the last month or 2 when it froze now I thought it was another bad case of that.

Does this sound like a boot loop issue?
Its a 506 serial but it doesn't loop just boots and then switches off, doesn't even reach the home screen.

Bootloop usually shows the LG screen then restart and then show the LG screen again. Then repeat itself.

Just been informed mine's been repaired after exhibiting similar symptoms. The wife was fiddling about on Facebook or summin' when the phone switched off & she couldn't get it to power up again. I popped out the battery and put it back, powered it on, saw that it was booting and handed it back to her with its flip cover closed. 5 minutes later she says 'I thought you fixed it'... so did I.

Had another, better look and found I could replicate the symptoms each time. Powering up just after a battery pull would get me to the home screen... once. Before you could do anything on the phone it'd reboot and then loop once from LG logo to LG logo. After that it'd be dead until another battery pull.

Was still diagnosed as a main board failure. Took LG more than a week to supply the repair centre with parts, after promising high and low on social media that it'd be a next day repair. Not impressed, and I won't likely bother with an LG phone in future. Locked bootloader plus this episode just left too sour a taste. Will just stick to the more decent Chinese phones in future - 95% of the functionality, 80% of the spec and 30% of the price.

They all tend to vary, it depends on what goes wrong with the board. My brothers one (he's dictating this) just froze on the LG logo, and he couldn't get any further, no matter what he did.
Smartlab changed both mainboard and camera no charge, and now it has great battery life and an excellent camera.

sounds exactly like my bootloop Airborne.

I also did not hit LG screen over and over again, sometimes all I had was the LED flashing blue every few seconds.

Take it in. mine took a week, and came back much much better.

I think we should be grateful it's actually boot looped in a way. Most reports are the phones perform better after being repaired. I couldn't be bothered to use it after getting fixed, but my Dad is happy with it, it's a big improvement over his ageing S4.

Just dropped it off now at a Cell C branch, person helping me was a total d1ck, those I know everything better than you people, was trying to find the reset button on my phone :(
Same guy said my phone has water damage because what he called the water indicator was red, the spot inside the little dot I have circled in the pic below:

Those who still have their G4's what colour is yours?

This link shows it in a different position but mine has no indicator in that location:
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28989

It's booked in and has to get sent away for repair so will have to see what transpires.
The most wet my phone has got is a damp cloth to clean off dust, if that location is a water indicator I may have made it damp, will be very disappointed if that is the case.

Should have gone direct to LG repairer, saved time and hassle.

You have every right to go fetch it. I would.
Rather take it directly to LG. The people at Cell C might make a note "suspected water damage". If so, the overworked LG technician won't even bother touching it.

Dot is white, as you can see in the pic.

Is that dot the water indicator though and the one they use to refuse warranty due to "water damage"?
Where can I find a list of LG's repair centers?

Please contact Call Center Number 0800 54 54 54 to Find LG repair service center. <- that's from the LG website.
Ask them what to look for.
Tried that number thsi morning, they gave me the number of the closest LG appliance repairer
We know nuffink. Look here for where it is located.

Mine doesn't even have a sticker in that location, does anyone else with a SA G4 have an indicator sticker there?
