LG G4

Oh lovely, thanks. Not keen on paying R550+ for a G6 so I don't know where to go from here :/

Try the only repair place left in Edenvale, they probably will fix it. Not sure on the costs, but if you want a cheap almost the same phone, look at the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, it's what I've been using for the last week since my G4 boot loaded. I just don't see why I have to drive to Edenvale to drop the device off, they should have a courier service or something if it's still in warranty but oh well.

My phone's screen is heating up, the image burns in? Not sure if that's the right explanation. The corners of my phone go kinda red-ish. I got a message saying I'm due for an upgrade. This is the only reason except for the battery that I'd even consider replacing my phone. Anyone know how to fix it?
Akasha, throw it in the bin. It's not worth your time, effort and money to get that fixed. The LCD is expensive, like the Samsungs, it's just not worth it, just upgrade, or buy something else prepaid.

got a price for the battery from Let's Trade Mobile...... R490 :wtf:
They don't presently have stock, but I'm considering testing the cheaper one from Takealot
Pay the R490 rather :D, because you going to buy another generic battery soon.

Anybody on here who do custom roms in Cape Town CBD? Let me know please if you willing to assist?

Are these actually selling? I got my s7 edge yesterday and plan on just keeping the g4 as backup

Seen them going for R2-2.5k these days, probably a fair price seeing even the S6 is getting down to to the R3k region now.

Once mine is fixed will probably flog it. Surprisingly happy with the Redmi

Camera is MUTCH better on the g4 though. Right?

Honestly... Yes and no, the G4 could never get quick shots where things were moving. In low light the G4 was 10x better and in normal lighting maybe 2x, if you fiddled in manual mode you could probably pull of some amazing shots on the G4, but on auto it was hit and miss and if you wanted a quick snap sometimes you never got it as the phone took forever to open the camera app.

For as decent as the camera is, the things I can live without are: Really really bad battery, it getting hot, it slowing down for no reason, random reboots, signal lose, LG basically ditching it and not giving an unlocked boot loader.

Doubt it, my one hadn't even had a security update since March 2016

greetings g4 fans, tell me is it possible to downgrade from marshmallow to lollipop, basically I bought a g4 with a busted screen from an ex colleague, I order a screen and eventually get the phone running. I reset the phone and boom I'm blocked by LG's Factory Reset Protection. I've tried all the youtube tricks to bypass this feature none of them appear to work on marshmallow I figure rolling the phone back to lollipop would work
