Yeah. You pay R120 for the best parking and then when it is time to leave you realise just what a mistake you made. R50 parking would have probably been a better idea. WAS EPIC THOUGH!

Was a great concert. We had the 60 parking which seemed closer to the main entrance ( next to the bridge ) but it was such a screwup, it looks like we parked elsewhere although they did say that was where we were supposed to be but then the damn attendant reckons, "give me somthing and I'll get you a parking". Skipped him, went to another guy, showed him the ticket and he got us a spot. Ridiclous that they still want money before and after, wtf is the point of paying for a ticket?

And damn, we were stuck on that M1 for about 2 hours!!!

Still a awesome gig though.

My Experiance

Parking

Sucked... We got there early (around 14:00) and I can echo the confusion of everyone there. I had a R50 parking ticket and was told to go from point to point - and those guys int he yellow bib wanting between R20 and R50 did not make things easier. I eventually found the blue bib people who let me in and found a cool spot with a fairly easy exit.

Weather

Luckly I was watching the radar and saw the storm comming, so I sat under a structure playing cards with my GF, waiting for the storm to pass - I would have loved to have seen what Golden Circle was like the rain and hail hit.

Beer

The initial queue for beer sucked nuts. I waited for one of the kiosks to open and got my beer in under 10 min - oh, and awesome cups, never seen those before.

Opening Act

For once, its good to see a opening act that is in line with the main event, all to often the opening act is so completely different from the main event that it ruins the experiance

Main Event

Awesome so say the least, loved it... Would have been nice for them to dedicate a song to the people injured in Cape Town but at least they got a honerable mention...

The medics had their hands full, from kids unable to handle their beer and passing out in the corridoors, to someone pepper spraying General Admision - sounds like they had some fun on the day.

Overall, my third best concert after Rammstein and Daughtry.

We felt that pepper spray for a brief moment where we were standing. There is always a douchebag somewhere thinking he is funny. Will see how funny it is when karma cuts his brakes for him

Sat for 2 hours or so on the M1 :/ Had a R120 parking ticket and followed the official looking guys and got there pretty much as the section right by the bridge opened up so was directed there then had to pay another f#@$ing R50. Seemed like a nice spot at the time but then omg what a biatch to get out of there. Probably took another hour to leave the area. Skipped the queues for beer/snacks but fortunately a friend who was desperate got us some stuff. Still can't believe they didn't play Papercut.

Jhb has a sh#t load to learn in terms of event management. We sat in standstill traffic trying to exit the parking. Finding the Golden Circle entrance was a mission as well, whats the point of making you enter from certain gates if those gates do not correspond with your specific seating area.

Best parts of the night, that SMS board thing, the twilight banner being boo'ed and eventually falling off, Jack Parow's appearance (he should have opened, Kongos were boring) and the ENTIRE Linkin Park set.

Man all the songs from Kongos sounded the same :/

But maybe it is because we have been standing so long and super amped to see LP that they didn't do it for me.

There were specially arranged trains leaving to various areas (PTA, JHB & Springs I think).

I myself came from PTA and it was a breeze to get to PTA. On the way back we felt sorry for all the people in the traffic. We might have come home slightly later (I think we arrived at the station around 2:30) but atleast you do not have the stress and discomfert of the car. Oh and the ticket was R40 for a return ticket from PTA and it drops you off next to the stadium.

My experience:
Beers before LP started playing = impossible to get. Once LP were playing, not 1 person = beer instantly :D
Parking, we had the R50 ticket, we parked very close to the further possible exit (about 2km walk to the stadium). We waited about 10-15 min in traffic to get out and from there was smoothe sailing, can't really fault it.
The people - ughhhhhhhhhhhhh, LP attracts proper scum. Disliked the type of people that were there, obviously not everyone, but the fair majority.
Sound - We were sitting in the top tier faaaaaaaaar away, but even from up top, could still hear everything quite nicely, was an epic sight to watch all those people go mal.

Even though i am not a huge fan, Linkin Park was probably the greatest performance i have ever watched, very tight, extremely good vocals from both of the singers, awesome energy and one that won't easily be forgotten. Stoked they played all their old stuff.

We were also in the top tier, among the lot who started making Mexican waves when we got bored :D

Managed to find parking in a field about 200m away from the stadium, but still pissed that I had to pay a guy to not steal my car despite already having a parking ticket.

As for the show, was awesome to hear them play most of the main tracks from Hybrid Theory and Meteora, and only a few of their more recent stuff. Sitting up top, the scene around the stadium during Shadow Of The Day was bloody epic though.

They didn't play Crawling either

Enjoyed the show. Was in the cheap seats though (on the top tier). Perfect seats for a Soccer game, not so perfect for this. Could could only see the bottom right of the backstage screen.

Got the same tickets for RHCP though.... will need to sell and get better seats.

On the whole, enjoyed it - sore throat and all.

Had a driver drop us off and pick us up....no issues getting out.

When they played shadow of the day I turned around at one stage. The entire stadium dark with everyone in the seats waving their cellphones. Looked like stars were surrounding us down there. Was bloody AWESOME! I took a pic but it doesn't do it justice at all!!

But they did? Did you leave early or wait for the encore? It was one of their last songs during the encore.

For me the whole concert was awesome!! We got their early enough and could get shirts and drinks and food no problem.

The leaving at the end was hopeless and we took a nap in the car for a hour until most cars left. There was just no-one around on our side directing traffic properly.

Still re-living it in my head and can't get it out of my mind :D

Here's a video someone posted on Twitter, the best one I could find: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRkjE9pu8zQ&list=LLSXmexgEk4t-2nnGkvm_eDA&feature=mh_lolz

And best article I could find: http://www.timeslive.co.za/entertai...et-an-encore-linkin-park-live-in-johannesburg

i found the music to be a little soft.. like the chorus came and there was no punch ?

What a brilliant concert! LP was beyond awesome, the Kongos sucked though, I dont feel they were the right band to open for LP.
Had the R120 parking ticket, getting out of there was a pain! LP was just amazing, but I was a bit disappointed they never play crawling.
