List of congested exchanges?

This getting ridiculous. I feel so helpless. I think I'll have to withdraw from the online gaming leagues I entered. :(

I feel your pain... look

And i am trying to get ready for a DotA 2 tournament... sigh

Anyone else finding the Fourways exchange is currently borked ... piss poor throughput and massive latencies (to local). My line looks clean and both SAIX & MWEB accounts behave the same.

email me the tracerts and the pings along with your telephone number and I will see what I can do

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!! The monte exchange sucks!!!!!!! i have had bad ping and speed for the past week and im on a 4mb line getting 500 ms ping and 500 upload and download!! wtf is wrong with them???

Also on the La Rochelle exchange : BELLVILLE NORTH (WBLX03)

Local latency has been through the roof for a couple of weeks now, in fact these problems come from beginning of december 2011. We have been paying telkom R413~ odd every month for a faulty internet connection, and as a result our R400 p/m for ISP accounts is going to waste.

I cannot make a dialup connection with a telkom account because the dialup times out.

Techead how the hell the you actually manage to get a conference call with telkom about latency issues ? We mostly just get ignored because the call centre staff doesn't know what latency is.

its been a long process, and through people I know that work at telkom.

I guess they also dont like the fact that I created a website, a special one for them :)

Im dealing case by case at the moment, but BELLVILLE NORTH (WBLX03) is next on my list!!

I am not 100% certain, but when my tel# was 0219100363 I was on a DSLAM with the name Bellville North 4, which was congested. I then ordered a new line with tel# 02191024xx which was allocated to Bellville North 5 IMAX, which is not congested.

Sadly I know Bellville North 5 IMAX was only allocated a ATM link, so it wont be able to handle more traffic than Bellville North 4, however clients on that DSLAM at least sync with ADSL2+, wouldn't mind them upgrading it to SDH so that people can get 10mbit on it, especially if they start moving people over from the congested DSLAMs.

Hope that helps when you get to WBLX03

please do BELLVILLE NORTH (WBLX03), our line is 600ms+ almost on a permanent basis now! :(

I feel your pain... Like you, I am also on this exchange and its totally crap lately... most of the time... 800ms just to get through the exchange. I really hope techead has more luck with fighting with them... I have given up a long time ago. Phoning them doesnt help... they dont even understand what the term latency means.

Im dealing with people in telkom that have more understanding than that. In fact, people with in depth knowledge and understanding of the entire telkom network.

I plan to broach both the Somerset West exchange, and also Bellville North. Those two are the NB ones atm

techead, what details do you need?

my cousin is on Exchange Code WBLX03 , it is congested as hell , and would like to help.

Latest on the BELLVILLE NORTH (WBLX03) exchange is that our line sync speed has now been dropped to 2048kbps and the latency is still through the roof.

So much for decreasing the line speed then.

If you want to help me, you can supply me with the below info.

  • let me know what ISP you using and what sync speed with your noise ratios etc etc
  • do some pings and tracerouts to www.bbc.co.uk and www.mweb.co.za
  • install pingplotter and do the same to the above addresses. (5 min capture is enough)
  • try do the above on at least TWO different ISP's or more if you can
  • email it all to me [email protected]
  • dont forget to include your telephone number please

I supplied the info you asked for in the other thread, but I can do it again tonight... Will mail it through to you...
