I had to do that aswell, and I am sad to say that Telkom haven't yet even bothered to provision it with ADSL.go via the same route as Tinuva to order a second line.

Well I am on the LINDEN (RLDN) Exchange and get over 400ms latency and no less than 20 jitter.
I use mweb, axxes and FNB unshaped. All have the same result.
I informed telkom that I have this problem only during peak hours from 5pm to 12pm and am obviously on a congested exchange.
I then keep receiving sms's that they looked at my connection and found nothing wrong with it.
"Best effort policy" so its not something they care about!!!
I have no idea if they going to be fixing this, upgrading the exchange or moving ppl to other less congested exchanges. Anyone have any info?
Thanks
All hail the mind bogglingly cutting edge, state of the art, Telkom next generation network !everyday almost a new exchange, hope i am not next
is most of guys that does have problems still in a 4mps max area? with old ATM links?
Naw that is fine, its because you are now on a newer dslam that syncs with ADSL2+ (one of the requirements for 10mbit adsl) instead of G.DMT (older DSL standard). ADSL2+ uses dynamic sync rates instead of static sync rates, especially on bad lines. Even on my line where I have no speed problems, my upload rate is 507kbit instead of 512kbit.One thing that I have noticed is that my upload syncs at 507 and not 512 as normal. This could be one of the reasons why we getting the high latency?
How do we go about fixing this?
