Load Shedding - the all in one thread

We got a diesel genarator for R100k runs all 3 of our UPS's,...Brilliant!!

We are small enough that we have a large UPS that runs the PCs, server and iburst modem for a few hours.

For my part, my laptop battery normally sees me through it.

We're no more than two blocks away from a hospital so fortunately for us the last time we were powerless was around June last year when lighting struck our supply....touch wood

Do Eskom even stick to the schedule anyway?

I remember last year when we had this LS crud... we were told the power would go at certain times and it didn't go off at those times but other times.

So... whats the point of having the schedule anyways.

We all sit twiddling our thumbs.

I guess its purposefully like that as they have no idea when or where they're going the shed next. Utter incompetence.

Thats the idea, they don't want you to know when they are loadshedding. That way, they can do load shedding whenever they want to and tell you that you must have misread the schedule

we just got eskom to install another feed, so now we have 2 feeds, 1 as backup
