It happened here Springs suburb. From 15:00 to 18:00

This is all bullshit. Because they cant run Eskom. Blame it on what ever.
ANC has broken the country so badly they are busy trying to reboot it. Your patience is appreciated in this.

haha lekker.
Yeah it isn't really an issue now in summer. My APC 1000VA UPS in my lounge had 2x12aH batteries that I replaced with 2x105aH batteries so my lounge stays alive easily through load shedding.
Oh me too...my "cabinet of viewing" stays completely live: DSTV, media player, reciever and 55" all keeps going throughout any shedding anyway.

It is more a slight irritation than a crisis.

Exactly
Me too, the only way I know i have no power is I can hear a faint beep sound from within the UPS. Very very soft. I put a piece of prestik on the speaker to muffle the annoying sound.
If load shedding hits at night I have 1 desk lamp also switched on in the lounge. Load shedding doesn't bother me the slightest.

Loadshedding does not bother me in the least. I just need access to my emails and website to keep things afloat. Bought myself 25 power banks (which I ensure are all charged) to keep my smartphone running for an extended period of time in the event of a long-term outage.

As for food, coffee or anything else, I will simply grab takeaways as long as needed.

Winter time outage is a pain though.

Installed my inverter and batteries next to an open window in the garage. No inverter fan noise or beeping in the house. The garage is connected to the house, so I ran cables to the TV room, to my home office, and to LED lights in the kitchen. During a load shed, if we need to cook, we cook on gas.

I'm going to cry if it goes off tonight. My 2019 budget is due on Monday and I'm trying to finish it tonight as I'm fully booked from tomorrow right through to Sunday and on leave from Monday onwards. I'm now just saving as I'm going on.

I love how the City Power JHB is saying they aren't load shedding as they've got capacity.
But in the same Twitter feed they are updating people on the 5 or 6 substations around Joburg that are down.
So the only reason they didn't load shed is basically because a good portion of Johannesburg was off anyway.

I'm working from home at the moment because no car - I am paid per hour - so this BS is making me work till late evenings. Government can get ****ed. Need to find more ways to contribute less to their coffers.
